I am considering purchasing the Sony DSC-T100 camera for my upcoming Disney trip next week. I have a KodaK SLR type digital but I do not think I want to carry something this large. I like to the Sony as the optical zoom is 5X (most seem to be 3X) and a large display.

Does anyone have any experience with this camera or a better suggestion? Would like to buy this weekend as we are leaving next Saturday.

Thanks

Not exactly sure what you mean by a Kodak SLR type, but if it is a true DSLR, it is going to be tough to get used to a p&s. Kodak did not make to many DSLRs and all were pro level cameras, so I am wondering if you mean it is a bridge camera? Either way, be aware that a camera with a lens that small is not going to be that great at low light and WDW has many low light situations.

I was looking at this model online, as well as the Canon Powershot SD850 IS. Looking thru the threads on this forum, it seems the Canon comes out way above the Sony. I have an email in to a photographer friend to see if he can shed any light on it.

I do believe he's recommended Canon to me in the past though.
