Sony Camcorder Help Needed...

Hi,

Our last trip to WDW I used my Sony Digital camera and grabbed some great shots....This year I'm going to bring along a Sony Digital Camcorder along for the trip.

Help needed:

For indoor attractions like Pirates of the Caribbean, etc. should I use the NIGHTSHOT or SUPER NIGHTSHOT option ?

Any other tips (fireworks, parades) that would help me in shooting good videos while in the parks.

Thanks for your help.

My experience with Nightshot is that it will make the video black & white & grainy. This is the main down side.
I used it in the Little Mermaid show & it revealed some amazing behind the dark things!
As for any long period video like parades, fireworks, shows, I use a monopod or a shorter version on a strap around my neck that helps steady the vidcam & gives my arm/wrist a rest!

nightshot won't bring in as much light but Super Nightshot will leave the video super grainy and bad pictures if not used with a tripod.

I have a sony digital camcorder too. I wasn't too happy about the "night shot" feature. You are right...they come out black and white and grainy. I just used it for one night when we were camping...so no great loss of video.

For indoor attractions, I generally put the camera on sunset mode. It really sucks in the natural light. It worked great on Journey Into Imagination and the American Adventure. Spaceship Earth came out a little dark, though. Fireworks look awesome on sunset mode. Illuminations looked great!
