My son's light saber stopped working the night we bought it, but we had to leave on the plane the next morning. Is there anything I can do? Anyone know a number I can call for a replacement or something?

Thanks

If you want to get a light-saber get it early in the day and try it out to make sure it keeps working!

You got the build-your-own? If so, is it sound or light that's not working, or both?

Remember the light is extremely dim on them. And for the sound, make sure the 'crystal' is in properly. Are the batteries in correctly?

Yes, build-your-own. It goes on, but then if you barely move it the sound and lights both go out. I'll go check the batteries again.

If that doesn't work, contact Disneyland DelivEARS as they've been known to help in this kind of situation (they could ship you a replacement - a one-time service they've offered in the past):

O.K. I took the crystal out and put it back in and it didn't work at all. Then I tried a different crystal and it worked, so I tried the original and it worked, so I guess the crystals are just picky about how they're put in. Thanks for the advice. ;)

For the 2 days that DS had his (we managed to lose it and it never showed up in lost/found), those crystals were very difficult. DS and DH could put them in perfectly, but I had huge problems figuring it out!

Was the build your own lightsabor cool. my sons 6 and obsessed with star wars. So i think that he will want one. and is there a website i can see the diffrent kinds?

Yes, they are very cool, and only $20. This seems like a good price compared to everything else you can buy in the park!

I don't think there's a site (but I could be wrong), but you can make various sorts. DS got one to be Luke.

The one issue is the sheer size of it. If your 6 year old is not very small I would imagine it would be fine. My 4 year old is on the bigger side, and it was just too bulky and big for him. And there are NO belt-clips! And the blade doesn't insert all the way in. So this is what he'll be carrying around all day except for when it's extended:

And fully extended:

You have a choice between clear "blades" or a red blade. The clear ones show the color (vaguely) that you can choose; the red ones don't have a color, they are just red. So this is what the blade will usually look like (the light isn't strong, the color isn't strong, it's all very washed out even in a dark room).

You can get darth maul style with a double blade. But it will only light up on ONE side. Good to know that ahead of time. They are very clear at the point where they are made, but if a child has been expecting a true double sided saber, 5 minutes warning that only one side will light up isn't going to be enough.

DS got his as a b'day present on the 26th, and by the 28th he was so tired of carrying it he must have lain it down or handed it to us, and we all walked away from it. Someone snagged it and never turned it in to lost and found, so it was gone.

For my 4 year old we should have stuck with the cheap no light no sound WITH belt-clip Hasbro saber.

But a 6 year old should do better with it! :)

The same exact thing happened to my sons' lightsabers.

We built them on the last day of our trip in June, the next morning when I'm packing the boys tell me their lightsabers don't work. I tried switching out the batteries and that wasn't the problem.

I bought the boys cheapy lightsabers from Target in the mean time so they no longer wanted the "crappy Disneyland lightsabers".

I took them back for our Sept trip and brought the lightsabers back to StarTraders.
I told the CM the scenario and they credited my account. The CM said there is often a defect in the handle portion of the lightsaber....great..they know there is a defect in the product but still they sell them to disillusioned kids.
It worked in my favor, my kids now think everything in the Star Traders store is "crappy" and will break.
Unfortunately they don't think that about the toys in World of Disney

I'm sure if you call Deliver ears they can help you.

My friend bought her son a lightsaber on our June trip, his also broke by the time we got home.

Good luck!
