Visiting Disney and taking one day in April to go to Sea World. It will be my son's first trip to SW. He will be a week away from turning 6 and does not know how to swim yet. What are the MUST dos for a family that doesn't do roller coaster rides? I do want him to meet Count Von Count (his fave Sesame character)...is he at any of the breakfasts? I think he would also enjoy the Dine With Shamu for lunch/dinner. Are there any experiences/encounters that would be good for a non swimmer, yet get up close and personal with animals? Thanks in advance!

The shows are the biggest part of SW so those are the must dos. Their are only 3 rides that are coasters. If he likes some kiddie rides there are some fun ones in Shamu harbor.

The sesame strret shows are for special times of the yr only and they don't have any meet and greets with all the characters. The only time they do the breakfast with them is at Halloween. I have seen signs after the show when it is going on for a meet and greet with Elmo but no one else. If its around spring break they might have a sesame show. Just keep an eye out on the website for the show schedule closer to your trip.

Dine with shamu would be fun and that is all yr round.

For a way to get up close to the animals without a tour the dolphin feeding and stingray feeding will allow him to pet them too. The sting rays you don't have to feed and will still get to pet. You can feed the sharks and seals but that is just throwing fish in the pit. The seals are fun my kids like to feed them I guess cause they can't take it from their hands.

Actually, Sea World offers the Sesame breakfast at a few times during the year. A new Sesame show started this week and the breakfast is being offered to go along with the kids events. As far as the meet and greet, a few characters "usually" meet after the show. We have met the Count, but I think it was in the fall.

As far as the child not swimming- that is not really an issue as there is no where for guests to swim at Sea World. And there are barriers to prevent guests from falling into the water. SO he should be fine!

I just saw about the elmo breakfast in the other post. Thanks I had never seen it offer except for at halloween when it is the Counts breakfast. Of course I can see why he is more featured at that time.

The lean over and pet the stingrays experience is very up close and he will very likely love it...and you will be REALLY happy with yourself if you bring him a full change of clothes for when it is over :) My little one always ends up soaking wet!
