We will be there Sept 18 - 24th and his birthday is on the 20th. Should I make a big deal everynight at each of the table service restaurants during our stay or only on his actual birthday. What does everyone think? Will they give him a birthday dessert everywhere?

Personally, I'd go for the "one night as a big deal " option. You risk diluting the entire experience otherwise. Just my two cents' worth. ;)

We too have only celebrated with a dessert on our children's actual birthdays when at WDW. We usually are at character dinners and they include dessert, so besides making the actual day less special with multiple celebrations each birthday trip, we didn't want to waste food.

I would just do it one day...it makes it more special. We were there for my DD's 6th birthday and they fussed over her at CRT at breakfast and then we had her dinner party at CM's. Both places brought her a cupcake with a candle. We had no idea they were going to do this but it was a nice treat for her.

I would celebrate ON his birthday but wouldn't have a problem letting them know you're there on vacation to celebrate his 5th bd. :cake:

We celebrated my dd's 7th birthday. The whole trip was a surprise and we stopped talking about her birthday before we left. So until the day of her birthday arrived it never occurred to her that this was actually her birthday present. We made that one day very special however we did let her wear her birthday pin one day at each park, From the day before her birthday and for 2 days after. However we did not ask for nor encourage any special treatment on other days (not that it didnt happen but not to the degree it did on her birthday). Everytime someone would say happy birthday she made a point of telling them if it wasnt actually that day.

Last summer we went for my little guys birthday (it was a surprise) :goodvibes anyway when I made the ARD's for the trip i told the gal it was a surprise b-day trip and we wanted to celebrate at Chef Mickeys. so could she mark it down for that night :thumbsup2
To our surprise every TS meal we had except Rose & Crown, gave my son a cupcake and wished him Happy Birthday!
We were told "it" was marked on the ARD, so it was a little pixiedust: at (almost) every meal and it was great!

The trip was his present, and he wore his birthday button's to each park he had a blast :wave2:

Oh and he also would say "well my b-day was yesterday or 2 days ago" or whatever and all the server's we had would ask him if this was his birthday trip and how cool for him! :woohoo:

Enjoy your trip! :moped:
