Sonny Eclipse?

He is still gone? Anyone know what the story is? A few trips back we saw an Imagineer walking around the eating area stretching drawings in a pad. Now I heard Sonny is gone.

What are they doing in there?

Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe's entertainment. (The alien creature who plays the keyboard.)

We always eat here each trip. Kids like watching him and it is air conditioned!

Oh, THAT Sonny Eclipse { } I thought that he has been gone for some time? I could be wrong, we haven't eaten there in a while.

There is no longer any mention of Sonny on the WDW web site. Looks like he may be gone. When did this happen? Sonny was a lot of fun. Why would they get rid of him?

Sonny Gone? We are in the world right now. We won't be back at MK until Wednesday or Thursday but we almost always either eat there or Pecos Bills. I will make a point to swing by and check. It will be sad if he is no longer there as it was always a fairly corny but entertaining show.

Just a guess, but maybe he is gone because of the work involved in clearing the area for school chorus/bands to perform there during the day???

Was there last week and noticed he was gone. Yesterday was real close (checking out the preview of Stitch!) but never checked on Sonny.

He was gone in August, and when I checked this past weekend, he was still gone........... I asked a CM who appeared clueless.

I want him back........

I spent 2 hours listening to Sonny in April 2004 while waiting for my son to perform at the Starlite Cafe. Sonny's routine is only about 25 minutes long. Same jokes over and over. With today's technology, Disney could make a routine hours long.
But Disney could be having problems with the stage. On that particuler stage, Sonny goes up into the ceiling and the preformers rise from below. It is a great effect.

We saw Sonny last New Years Day, but he was gone last AUgust. We were hoping he would be back this Christmas!

He adds (or added) a lot energy to the place, as well as to the theme.

I also hope he is not gone, or that some kind of replacement is forthcoming.

Excerpt from conversation I had with a CM at Cosmic Ray's on 10-29-04.

Me: When will Sonny be back?
CM: Sonny is on tour!

While at the MNSSHP on Thursday evening October 28th we stopped through Rays and I had a chance to talk to a cast member that indicated that he was on an extended tour. What it really meant and the CM said was that they were having trouble with the elevator that raises him up through the ceiling.

Apparently they use this elevator for school groups when they come and perform at Rays. The bring the school group through the tunnells and load them on the elevator and sonny disappears into the ceiling during these special performances.

Hope this helps with all the speculation.

I have guilt now because we ate there in June one evening and my kids mocked him!
