Sonny Eclipse Rant

Anyone else really look forward to seeing him at Cosmic Rays? For me, it's the main reason I eat there. It's like an attraction to me. Nothing personal against high school bands, but I can't stand going in there for lunch just to see a band playing. Why don't they just put them on the stage by the Carousel of Progress and if people wanna see them, they can?

I know it's not the same thing, but to me, it'd be like going to see the Country Bears and having some high school band up there.

well, fwiw, steve soares lists all scheduled magic music days performances on his site. not that i would have thought about it, but i don't think i would have been THAT bummed about not seeing sonny eclipse one day.

although on the topic, i was fortunate enough to witness just how it transforms from sonny to a stage. saw it occur for one of the party dance parties. pretty darn neat.

I thought the OP was going to say they didn't like Sonny!!! We stop in for a little rest and just to hear Sonny -- never bought anything to eat there yet! It's fun to pop by!

(We have gone when there were plenty of seats empty - didn't want anyone to think I was keeping those who eat from sitting!)

We were very disappointed a few trips back when Sonny was on vacation (being refurbed!). We love CR & Sonny.

This thread does lead me to a question I had not thought of, in regards to the thread complaining of people sitting before they got their food. If Disney did not expect people to come in a sit to watch why would they have schoo l bands playing in there? Makes one wonder doesn't it? Guess maybe they really do expect people to stop in and take a load off!

I agree in totality. I was very sad that he was down the last time we were there - I see him as an attraction too, and a big part of the reason that I eat there instead of one of the many other burger places. Speaking as a high school orchestra teacher (one who has been invited to play at Disney, but is afraid to travel with her students yet ) I would expect to play outside, in an area that doesn't impeed traffic flow. I find it crazy that Disney would take over a space as popular (and inside=loud with hs bands) for something like that. Put them outside in the theatres that are perfectly designed for that and that are usually sitting useless. That seems obvious to me

I never even really noticed Sonny in my past visits, but this time we had DGD(2) with us. She LOVED Sonny. When she was finished eating, she got up and danced!!!!!
