This is the first thing that came to mind for me. I love this song, and the video cracks me up.

"Time Stands Still," Rush -- it wasn't easy picking just one cheesy video from this band!

Rush was an interesting phenomenon. Their fan base was largely teen males: guys LOVED them. Girls not so much. They were the quintessential "cool" group in the '80s. They were viewed as a big step above the bands of the era in intelligence and sophistication. I listen to the music now and while I still like it, it also sounds sort of pretentious - like they're trying so hard to be clever.

haha. I LOVE REO, but cringe at some of their videos.

If anyone hasn't seen the Hugh Grant movie "Music and Lyrics", it's a big satire on the '80s bands, including all the cheesy videos and dance moves of the era. Fun movie to watch.

LOL, me too, but the video is missing the funky intro where they spell out S-A-F-E-T-Y…I actually saw Men Without Hats live, around the time this song came out. They played an unannounced concert at a small club in NY, on a night my friends and I happened to be there. Too bad they were a one-hit wonder.

This one is quite creative and won several video awards, yet I can’t get past the overall cheesiness of the song. Best parts are the fruit and the dancing chickens. And in case you don’t know what it’s about, Peter makes it clear in the first few seconds.
