Songs to put on a cd?

Hi guys.

We're going on our DCL cruise in June and I would like to make a cd with some songs to get me in the mood. (not that I really need it, I'm already soooo excited) I'm planning on putting some Jimmy Buffett (of course) on there and maybe the Beach Boys Kokimo and Sheryl Crow's I'm Gonna Soak Up The Sun but what else would you suggest adding to it?

also Club Paradise by Jimmy Cliff. Actually a lot of Jimmy Cliff tunes would work.

One of my favorites is Walkin' on Sunshine by Christina & the Waves.
Or how about Hot Fun in the Summertime by Sly & the Family Stone, or Summer Breeze by Seals & Crofts.
Another good Jimmy Cliff would be Reggae Nights.

You might also considering purchasing Disney's Beauty and the Beat CD. It's disney songs performed by a steel drum band. It's very Caribbean sounding.

Also...."Hey..... hey, hey Baby...I wanna know....if you will be my girl...etc"...forget who it is by. One version was played on the soundtrack of Dirty Dancing but it is not that version...it is an updated one.....they play at the deck parties!!!

I also like "Cruising" by Heuy Lewis and Gwenyth Platrow from the soundtrack of the movie Duets.

Several Jimmy Buffet songs
Under the Sea - the little mermaid
Sittin' on the dock of the bay - otis redding
Kokomo- the beach boys
Don't worry, be happy
limbo rock-chubby checker
hot, hot, hot - ?
when you wish upon a star-jiminy cricket
caribean queen - billy ocean

and I think that is about it...I like all of your suggestions, I may have to make a new CD!

Kokomo - Beach Boys
When the Sun Goes Down - Kenny Chesney/Uncle Kracker
It's Five O'Clock Somewhere - Alan Jackson/Jimmy Buffett
Ten Rounds With Jose Cuervo - Tracy Byrd
I Love This Bar - Toby Keith
Probably a few more Buffett songs

There's a definite theme here. You'd never know I've had only one drink in the last 6 months.

The song "Hey Baby " Bruce Channel.. from the Dirty Dancing Soundtrack,... is a song you will hear constantly on the cruise... the CM's do a fun routine too that song,... gets you in the mood to vacation......!!!

DH and I did this for our cruise in July...we ended up with 6 CD's!!! Some of the songs are :

kiss him goodbye (na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye)
when you wish upon a star
a pirate looks at 40
lovely cruise
come sail away (styx)
one particular harbor
couple days off
soak up the sun
walkin on sunshine
Mickey
a dream is a wish your heart makes

there are MANY others (obviously), but many of them relate back to our other cruises, and memories from them.

The "Hey Baby" song is from the Kangaroo Jack Soundtrack not the one on Dirty Dancing.

I was disappointed that they did not do the Cha Cha Slide at the deck party on our Feb 7, 04 magic cruise...that always reminds me of our DCL cruises.....

That song was just recently at the top of the UK charts for a few weeks. It has been out for quite some time in the U.S. but I don't remember it being in the top of the charts at all here.
