Songs that make you all weepy

I LOVE that song!!!

mine is "You Raise Me Up" by Josh Groban...oh that voice of his. We played it during the candlelighting/family tribute part of our wedding ceremony...not a dry eye in the house. I'm getting a littel choked up just typing about it!!!

I'm not good remembering who sings what, but the song DANCE WITH MY FATHER AGAIN makes me weepy. I'm sure there are others, but this was the first one that came to mind.

The Good Stuff by Kenny Chesney. whew!
finally by the 100th time I heard it I didn't cry! :lmao:

"Taps"

"Go Rest High On That Mountain" by Vince Gill

"I Believe" by Diamond Rio

I loved her first - Heartland

Look at the two of you dancing that way
Lost in the moment and each others face
So much in love your alone in this place
Like there's nobody else in the world
I was enough for her not long ago
I was her number one
She told me so
And she still means the world to me
Just so you know
So be careful when you hold my girl
Time changes everything
Life must go on
And I'm not gonna stand in your way

But I loved her first and I held her first
And a place in my heart will always be hers
From the first breath she breathed
When she first smiled at me
I knew the love of a father runs deep
And I prayed that she'd find you someday
But it still hard to give her away
I loved her first

How could that beautiful women with you
Be the same freckle face kid that I knew
The one that I read all those fairy tales to
And tucked into bed all those nights
And I knew the first time I saw you with her
It was only a matter of time

But I loved her first and I held her first
And a place in my heart will always be hers
From the first breath she breathed
When she first smiled at me
I knew the love of a father runs deep
And I prayed that she'd find you someday
But its still hard to give her away
I loved her first

From the first breath she breathed
When she first smiled at me
I knew the love of a father runs deep
Someday you might know what I'm going through
When a miracle smiles up at you
I loved her first

Patriotic songs make me cry. I tear up every time the Star Spangled Banner is sung or played at a ball game!!

Wind Beneath my Wings by Bette Midler.
It was that Father/Daighter song for my wedding

Christmas shoes......don't know who sang it.

It's based on a book I believe and had one of those lifetime movies made about it.

It absolutly breaks my heart.

It was almost Christmas time,
There I stood in another line
Trying to buy that last gift or two,
Not really in the Christmas mood.
Standing right in front of me
Was a little boy waiting anxiously,
Pacing round like little boys do,
And in his hands, he held a pair of shoes.
And his clothes were worn and old.
He was dirty from head to toe,
And when it came his time to pay,
I couldn’t believe what I heard him say.

Chorus:

Sir, I wanna buy these shoes for my momma please.
It's Christmas Eve and these shoes are just her size.
Could you hurry, Sir?
Daddy says there's not much time.
You see, she's been sick for quite a while;
Know these shoes will make her smile.
Want her to look beautiful if Momma meets Jesus tonight.

He counted pennies for what seemed like years
Then the cashier said “There’s not enough here.”
He searched his pockets frantically
Then he turned and he looked at me.
He said “Momma made Christmas good at our house
Though most years she just did without.
Tell me, Sir, what am I gonna do?
Somehow I’ve got to buy these Christmas shoes!”
So I laid the money down;
I just had to help him out.
And I’ll never forget the look on his face
When he said “Momma’s gonna look so great!”

Chorus

I knew that I got a glimpse of heaven’s love
As he thanked me and ran out.
I knew that God had sent that little boy to remind me
What Christmas is all about.
Chorus in children’s voices

Young boy:
I want her to look beautiful
If Momma meets Jesus tonight.

Heard a new song on the country station a few days ago. I bawled like a baby!!!!! Get the tissues ready, you will need them!!

Just One - Lisa Shafer

Genre/Lang. : Country

Crowd gathered ‘round a school bus,
Third Street and Elm.
The neighbor man said officer-
I caught it all on film,
I watched my little grandson,
Come so close to death,
By that man standing right there with liquor on his breath.
Another little boy wasn’t so lucky;
He was lying there in the street,
His little lifeless body,
Beneath the yellow sheet.
While the young man was on the sidewalk,
Going through a sobriety check,
The crowd was turning into a lynch mob when raised up his hands and said:

I only had just one,
I swear that’s the truth.
The kid came out of nowhere,
There was nothing I could do.
I couldn’t swerve, I couldn’t stop,
Now here I am asking God,
What have I done?
I only had just one.

A young mother burst through the crowd,
Pulled back that yellow sheet.
Collapsed and started shaking uncontrollably,
Searched until she found that young man with her shattered eyes,
Then tore a hole into his soul,
As she screamed and cried.

I only had just one,
And you took him away.
I hope this something, you relive every day.
You could’ve swerved, and you could’ve stopped,
But you didn’t,
Now look my God,
What have you done?
I only had just one.

I only had just one…

Forgot one:

I'm Already There by Lonestar
esp. the version that has the soldier's wives and children talking between each verse about how they miss their daddy. That one even makes my dh and brother cry too.
Those country songs really pull on your heartstrings. :goodvibes

Patriotic songs make me cry. I tear up every time the Star Spangled Banner is sung or played at a ball game!!
Me too! I even cried at a Toby Keith concert when he played American Soldier and Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue! Of course, I look around and swear I was the only one crying or at least it seemed that way.

in My Daughters Eyes~Martina McBride

In my daughter's eyes, I am a hero.
I am strong an' wise,
And I know no fear.
But the truth is plain to see:
She was sent to rescue me,
I see who I wanna be, in my daughter's eyes.

In my daughter's eyes, everyone is equal,
Darkness turns to light,
And the world is at peace.
This miracle God gave to me,
Gives me strength when I am weak.
I find reason to believe, in my daughter's eyes.

An' when she wraps her hand around my finger,
Oh, it puts a smile in my heart.
Everything becomes a little clearer.
I realise what life is all about.
It's hangin' on when your heart has had enough;
It's givin' more when you feel like givin' up.
I've seen the light: it's in my daughter's eyes.

In my daughter's eyes, I can see the future.
A reflection of who I am,
An' what will be.
An' though she'll grow an', some day, leave:
Maybe raise a family,
When I'm gone, I hope you'll see,
How happy she made me,
For I'll be there, in my daughter's eyes.

 :cloud9:

Since my dad's funeral, Taps gets me too. I was fine untill they fired a shot, then I just lost it... the mix of that music and gun shots makes me sick... now I try not to pay attention if they play that in a movie or on tv.

The Dance by Garth Brooks is one of the weepy songs to me.

My brother was engaged to a lovely girl who was so much a part of our family. Long story short my brother broke off the engagement and the fiance was devastated. I felt so sad for her and to know that she wouldn't be a part of our family. This all happened about the time that song was popular. To this day when I hear that song I think about the future sister-in-law I lost in 1990 and how her heart was broken.

PS. She is doing great and just got engaged again last month. DB is married with 2 children, one on the way and lives in Hawaii.

I have a few that make me cry. One is The Little girl by John Micheal Montgomery. I'm alreay there by: Lonestar This song was played at my moms funeral. Skin by: Rascal Flatts. Thoughs are just a few.

You guys are making me so sad! And I was having a positive morning!

There is a song that always gets me, but I don't have time to look it up right now. It is about a guy who had a girl who he just gets over and then she comes back. It is heart breaking!
