My little sister (3) listens to Jazz, Old school R&B, Temptations, Manhattans, Boyz II Men, Four Tops, alot of Disney, and she also likes a couple rock songs, but for fear of the flame I will noy say what they are.

My 6 soon to be 7 year old has his own playlist on my Ipod and his shuffle.

The Ramones, (Spiderman, Beat on the Brat, Wanna be your Boyfriend, Blitzkrieg Bop, Surfin' Bird, Rock n Roll High School, etc)

Daft Punk (discovery album- One more time and Harder Better Faster Stronger)

Depeche Mode (Enjoy the silence Remixes, some tracks from Violator)

C + C Music Factory ( Here We go, Gonna make you sweat, Do you wanna get funky)

Black Sabbath (Ironman)

Megadeth (Symphony of Destruction, Sweating bullets, Back in the Day)

I would never let my kids listen to the whiny poorly written Emo/pop trash that passes for music today.
Including what passes for music on the Disney channel.
Nor hip hop... no thanks, We like Grand master Flash, Sugarhill Gang, KRS-One, Public Enemy, Run DMC, etc when it comes to that genre.

As mentioned above, thanks to Rock band and guitar hero, and TV shows, Kids know a lot of Beatles songs and classic rock...

So do mine!! When we drove to WDW in February, the kids kept playing Queen's "Don't Stop Me Now" over and over again. DH and I enjoyed it, too, because the song reminds us of one of our favorite movies, "Shaun of the Dead".

As for Weird Al, my kids love "The ebay Song" and "White and Nerdy". The kids almost don't believe me when I tell them that Weird Al has been around for years. "I lost on Jeopardy ... baby ..."

We do, too, especially since DS (7) thought the song was called "Another One Bites the Doctor"!!
