I happen to go on the site to see how our flights are filling up for our Nov. trip...and behold...a screen says, "No flights for your dates". I called Song and was told that 4 flights a day will be condensed into 2 flights a day! This works out better for us going and returning(flight times)...but they will not give us reserved seating! :scared: Before, we had 5 seats in a row for row 5! Now, the flights are overbooked, and if we actually make it on the flight...we may be scattered on the plane. Traveling with small kids, this poses a major problem! She said to call back in 7-10 days to see if I can get seating once all the glitches are out of the system, but I really don't want to wait! Any suggestions? Has anyone demanded seating via supervisors!

Did you try pulling up your reservation through the website? You can try via flysong.com or delta.com. You might be able to choose your seats there. Good Luck!!

I just tried, but the chart only shows 4 bulk head seats available and I need 5 non-bulk head! This has got me worried! Does this mean they sold me 5 seats that are not available?

No, it means only those four seats are available for advance assignment - airlines only assign X number of seats in advance, with the rest done at the airport the day of the flight.
Just curious why you need non-bulkhead seats, since these offer more leg room?

Actually they were exit seats, not bulk head-my mistake! The airlines will not assign passengers under the age of 15 those seats!

Song opens up all the seats 24 hours in advance of the flight for online check-in. If you don't get your seats changed before then (I would try several times a day), log on to flysong.com 24 hours before your flight time, you should be able to change your seats then. It always amazes me how many seats become available at the 24 hour mark.

Don't worry about your seating, when you get on the plane (if your still seperated) believe me people will be glad ;) to trade seats if they find out they are going to be sitting next to your UNATTENDED CHILD!!! :earseek:

(For those eavesdropping)

If you find your flight is cancelled and find you are assigned to another flight and it is to you liking, immediatly call on the phone and accept the change. Just say you understand a flight change was made and you want to reselect seats.

If you don't call you may find yourself re-reassigned to something less favorable.

If you have purchased a ticket for a small child requiring a child seat the airline will without fail free up a window seat for the child seat and the adjacent middle seat for you.

This is what I did!...but they wouldn't re-assign me seats! They said the system won't allow advanced seat requests at this time!

Denying you seat selections while leaving the rest of your reservation intact actually accepts the change on the part of the airline. The airline may now not change you out of those flights without bump compensation if the flights still exist. You are not obligated to accept a flight change at 2 AM the morning you depart, which requests by airlines do happen. (After you show up at the airport as planned, legally required bump compensation can be zero if the reason is a smaller plane substituted at the last minute, although the airline will usually still ask for volunteers.)

Did you get the name of the person you talked to? If not, wait two days and call back re-requesting seat assignments.

Yahoo!!! I just went on the Song website...and was able to reserve seats! Not all 5 in a row, but close enough!

because of you, I found that my flights were also dumped (11/5 and 11/12) and the new flights were not good for us. I ended up switching to JFK at better times. We got seats coming back, but not going down, so I'm going to check periodically and if nothing opens up, I'm going to check in 24 hours ahead and see if I can get our seats from the newly released bunch.

Thanks a million for alerting me to this. I ended up calling my friend at 8:30 last night (she's flying down the day after us but coming back with us on the same flight with her dh and 4 little boys) and left her a message to contact Song immediately to fix the problem. I'll see her in a few minutes here at work and I'll find out what happened.

Thanks to this and another thread, I just check my flights from Boston in Nov/Dec and my flights were changed yet again.

This time each by an hour and the flight home was even a new flight #.

The seats appeared un-assigned online but on the phone they said they were still assigned and sent me new e-tickets and updated the website.

I hope this is it for changes!!

That is what these boards are for...to keep EVERYONE informed...and to vent alittle! :teeth:

I am flying out of LGA on 9/23 @6:30am and leaving MCO on 10/1 @2:30pm. My flights and seats are still there. When is this starting? Anyone else in Sept check theirs?

Ditto.
Thanks to these boards, I keep checking the flight times. My place going down now leaves BOS at 7:05am. I'd better go to bed nice and early the night before :rotfl2:
