You can't go wrong with them (:

Katy perry

Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus, Jonas Brothers, Wicked, Hairspray, Legally Blonde the Musical, Camp Rock, High School Musical, Ashley Tisdale, Vanessa Hudgens, Aly & AJ, Barlowgirl, Britney Spears, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, The Cheetah Girls, Demi Lovato, Emily Osment, Hilary Duff...

Don't know what your into but...

Thrice-my favorite band ever but sorta heavy metal/rock (best album-Artist in the Ambulance)
Wicked-Best musical in the history of forever!!!
And of course you can't go wrong with the Jonas Brothers!

The first thing you do is buy "(Lord it's Hard to be Happy when you're not) Using the Metric System" by Atom & His Package. It's been a hilarious song that has floated around my music collection for years and it never gets old.

Then download the Cursive discography (especially The Ugly Organ and Burst & Bloom EP, when they had Gretta on the cello). The best music you will probably ever allow your ears to listen to.

Start with the individual songs, and go from there. Some may be explicit, so watch out if you're not ok with that.

Indie
Headphones by I'm From Barcelona
Skeleton Key by Margot & The Nuclear So and So's
Oh Comely by Neutral Milk Hotel
(electronic-ish) Buffalo Tears by Gil Mantera's Party Dream
Owner of a Lonely Heart (cover) by Grizzly Bear
Look After Me by Hot Chip
A Little Longing Goes Away by The Books
Other Girls by Eux Autres (super cute)
I'll Believe in Anything by Wolf Parade (a necessity to anyone's music collection)
All Clap Your Hands Say Yeah!

Heavy Rock/Screamo/Punk
High Fives, la Hives & pretty much every single Blood Brothers song ever made. If you love screamo as much as I do and don't have them your music collection is lacking.
The whole Analphabetapholothology by Cap'n Jazz.

Pop
(not on itunes, but if you're interested I have these on mediafire) Noel & Hit The Lights by All Time Low (crazy good songs)
One Man Drinking Games by Mayday Parade
This Charming Man by Death Cab for Cutie
(electronic-ish) I Am A Pirate, You Are A Princess by PlayRadioPlay!
(crazy electronic-y) Comfy in Nautica by Panda Bear (think electronic meets beach boys)

Electronic/Instrumental
Aaww-some (Johnny Siera Remix) by Best Fwends
(warning: not everybody's cup of tea, so be forewarned.) Creepshow by Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti
Cowboys and Sailors by Ghosts & Vodka
Everything Casiotone for the Painfully Alone you can get your hands on. The best song by them is called Lonesome New Mexican Nights which you can get for free on their website I believe.

Hip-Hop/Rap
Sexy by Bunny Rabbit
Justify My Thug by Jay-Z & Dj Danger Mouse
Hold Up by Girl Talk (hip-hop mashup)

that should keep you occupied.

Jason Mraz
Jack Johnson
Bushwalla
Colbie Caillat
Eric Hutchinson
Dave Matthews Band
Beastie Boys
Nickelback
Fountains of Wayne
Lifehouse
The Who
AC/DC
Led Zepplin
Demetri Martin(I know its comedy but he is hilarious)
and more I cant think of

I'll tell you what I like. but it might not be your taste.

Hedley.
Simple Plan (their new stuff)
Faber Drive
John Mayer
Jason Mraz
Taylor Swift
Jack Johnson
Secondhand Serenade
Rex Goudie
Hoobastank
Our Lady Peace
