If we go when our DS is 17 and turns 18 on our vacation - then does our rate go up at the WDW resorts ? Maybe the Swan/Dolphi would be better ?

I think 18 year olds are $15 more per night in the same room with the parents - as in 3 aduts in one room.

Anyone have an 18 year old in the room with 2 parents ?

Thanks

No ticket is required for a child who turns 3 on a trip so I would think there would be no extra room charge for someone who turns 18 during a trip. he will be 17 when you check in and thats the info I would give them.

Yes it goes by the age you are when you check in

Yes, Disney is a magical place dontchaknow? No one ever ages there;) The age you check in at is the age you leave at. Now if I could just have spent my last decade or so in Disney:lmao:

Have a magical visit! They grow up so fast don't they?

You are over thinking this. He's 17 when you check in. Leave it at that.

My daughter was 17 upon check in and turned 18 while there. Disney knew it because I advised them when booking. They said it was based upon their age at check-in.

The best advice ever given on these boards that I will pass along. Disney does not penalize anyone for aging.

Well, more specifically, Disney does not penalize anyone for aging during that particular visit :teeth:
For room cost purposes, the OP's son will be seventeen for this entire trip. On all future trips, though - this is where the 'penalty' comes in - he'll be eighteen (or whatever age he actually is, including if he turns 21 during a trip, he can drink starting on his birthday ;))
