My son fell and cut his head at the pool. This happened on our first day. He needed to get his head stapled. It could have been much worse. Like if he knocked out his teeth. He slipped on the walkway by the water play area. That walkway has quite a bit of standing water and moving water. I would think it can be dangerous for anyone.
Just a note to all parents, make sure your kids are carefull when playing around the pool area.

How terrible for you! Poor baby! I hope he's OK now.

My 6 year old DD is on Swim Team and is on a pool deck many times a week. I still need to shout "Walking Feet!" to her :rolleyes1.

I have noticed this problem with the zero entry pools. I have slipped myself. So sorry about your boy. Were you able to still have a vacation?

:hippie:

We did still have a good time. My son had to take it easy and he was really upset about taking it easy. The people who took care of him at RP were really wonderful. RP is a great resort.
My son wants to go back soon. It's a shame that this had to happen. But it could have been so much worse.
I would imagine that pool injuries are very common. Especially at places like RP where the pool is so active.

I'm so sorry to hear your son got hurt on vacation! We were there at HRH this past week and witnessed a boy going down the slide head first and coming up from the water with a bloody face. Looked like it was his nose. The HRH staff acted quick and had him out of the pool on his way to get help instantly.

I'm glad you still had a good time and I hope he is doing OK now.:)

Awah... hope he feels better!! Kids just get so excited.

Was he wearing water shoes? I make my dd wear water shoes. The tread bottom seems to help a bit.

No he wasn't wearing the watershoes. I never thought of it. I wish I would have. I didn't see any of the kids in the pool with them on. So I guess other Mothers didn't think of it either.

I did fill out my survey for Royal Pacific. I gave very high marks to the employees that helped us at the pool. I named employees. I hope that helps them.
I did note that I was a little unhappy with the water play area walkway because the drainage didn't seem to be able to handle the water.

I do think RP has one of the best pools in Orlando. It's really a fun pool with allot of activety. I would go back there again. I just will stress to my kids to pay attention when they are walking in areas with allot of activity.

I'm sorry your son got hurt!, But I'm glad he's doing okay now. I broke my front tooth at a pool in NJ when I was ten, and pushed it right through my lip- I still have a little scar. So many accident happen around pools.

im sorry to hear that. poor baby. i notice too that that area is a little unsafe

I am so sorry to hear about your misfortune!
I believe we were at RPR the day that happened, they told us that the pool was closed due to an injury.
I hope your son is healing nicely.
We were there at RPR from 6/3-6/9 and saw another child at IOA, while waiting in line, who had staples in his head from a different hotel pool!
Those pools are quite a hazard! :confused3
