Somewhere Over the Rainbow--(sound link)

Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high
And the dreams that you dreamed of
Once in a lullaby ii ii iii
Somewhere over the rainbow
Blue birds fly
And the dreams that you dreamed of
Dreams really do come true ooh ooooh
Someday I'll wish upon a star
Wake up where the clouds are far behind me ee ee eeh
Where trouble melts like lemon drops
High above the chimney tops thats where you'll find me oh
Somewhere over the rainbow bluebirds fly
And the dream that you dare to,why, oh why can't I? i iiii

Well I see trees of green and
Red roses too,
I'll watch them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world

Well I see skies of blue and I see clouds of white
And the brightness of day
I like the dark and I think to myself
What a wonderful world

The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people passing by
I see friends shaking hands
Saying, "How do you do?"
They're really saying, I...I love you
I hear babies cry and I watch them grow,
They'll learn much more
Than we'll know
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world (w)oohoorld

Someday I'll wish upon a star,
Wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where trouble melts like lemon drops
High above the chimney top that's where you'll find me
Oh, Somewhere over the rainbow way up high
And the dream that you dare to, why, oh why can't I? I hiii ?

I love Iz. :thumbsup2

And this is just such a poignant song....

Hi Dan!!!!

I love this song! When I was little I wanted to grow up and be Judy Garland!

Merry Christmas to you, Marie, Vince and Natalie!
from all of us, John, Beth, Dootsie and John-Cole!

Thank you Dan! After being awake for wayyyy too long (being on call and other various duties!) it's nice to be reminded (at least to me) life isn't about getting the correct route set up for a multicast event! :teeth: These words truly "speak" to me and now I'm ready to crash and burn into a blissful sleep!

Thanks again!

Terry

Love the song Dan- thanks for a gentle reminder in this season of hustle and bustle!!! Wishing your growing family all the best in this season of giving!!! Caroline and Roger

LOL, sorry Dan. I didn't see the sound link in your post. I thought you were referring to the Judy Garland version. It looks like you & I have good taste then in the Israel Kamakawiwo'ole version.

Right clicked & saved the file. Hope you don't mind. ;)

Dan, this is by far one of the best versions of this song IMHO. Thank you.

BTW, Mom is doing great! God is good.

Dan, my man, life is a journey -sometimes painful but always beautiful. Thanks for sending Is to us.

Peace to you and to yours.
Mary Alice

Thanks so much.
I've been so stressed lately.
It's really a calming song.

My niece told me a cute story. She and her 3-year old daughter had watched The Wizard of Oz several times over a week. Then, when they went to a grocery store and needed to use the bathroom, they went through the double doors to the "warehouse-looking" area of the store where the restrooms were. The little girl looks around, looks up at her Mom and says "looks like we're not in Kansas anymore"!

(I love Israel's version!!)

Dan,
This is one of my most favorite songs-the combining of two of my favorites.
I first heard this beautiful, poignant version on the credits of the movie Meet Joe Black.
I HAD to find out who the artist was and bought the movie sound track.
Sadly,Israel Kamakawiwo'ole has passed on.
As I sit here crying over Lisa, oddly this song makes me feel sad and hopeful at the same time.
She fought THe BEAST so long and courageously,I pray she finds peace somewhere over that Rainbow in a wonderful world.
I know she was grateful for these extra years with her daughter, but it is still so unfair. I know I haven't been around much, but I thought of her often, I thought Lisa was still hanging in there,I can't go on, rambling now....kinda shocked at this news...But thank you for this lovely music link.

I know you are grieving so right now.
My heart and hugs go out to you my friend.
Still hoping for a miracle .
Love and Hugs,
Marilyn

when all the world is a hopeless jumble and the raindrops tumble all around
heaven opens a magic lane,
when all the clouds darken up the skyway, there's a rainbow highway to be found-
leading from your window pane-to a place beyond the sun, just a step beyond the rainbow...............

(the seldom sung but very appropriate first verse to 'over the rainbow').

god bless.

Thanks Dan ~ This is one of my favourite songs :goodvibes

I love this version of this song. I also love Eva Cassidy's version. Thanks for an early morning smile Dan. :)

Hope you are doing o.k. my friend. :grouphug:

Marilyn, it is so nice to see you again. :sunny: Do hope you and Ray are doing well along with all your family.

When I think of Sylvia, I do think of you too, Marilyn.

Glad this song brings others smiles as you all have said. :wave2:

I love this version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow. It always reminds me of the ER episode when Mark (Anthony Edwards) died.
