Sometimes the news is just SO disturbing...

It's incredible what people will apparently do for a buck. I hadn't heard anything about this, until I was wandering through the CNN website this morning. Have any local DIS'ers (Cook County Illinois) heard anything more about the Burr Oak Cemetery in Alsip, Illinois?

This is all very sad, very upsetting.

ETA - The previous link became incorrect, so the URL above is to the Google page full of results all about Burr Oak...I feel so sorry for all the families, Emmet Till's relatives, the mothers coming to the infants' section... The people who participated in the grave desecration and re-selling of filled burial plots? Words cannot express my disgust at what they've done.

I read about this yesterday. It's a very sad situation for the families and it is sick that stuff happened. I do hope criminal charges come out of this and I have read that several families plan to sue.

Yes, it has been THE news story here since it broke 2 or 3 days ago. Really, really low lifes to do something like that.

its on all the news stations, tv, radio, paper - its horrific. It makes you wonder what is wrong with people when there is no integrity, no value for human life.

every day something new comes to light. The "baby" graves are missing. People that have bought plots, that came to bury their loved ones, have been sent back to funeral homes... One lady the day this "broke" was there with her aunt, and they found a mess -

they cant find out who "owns" the cemetary - listening to reporters trying to track it down, and people they are interviewing that used to work there - just incredibly sad!

So sad... I heard a couple of days ago that Mrs. Obama's father is buried at Burr Oak as well.
