Kinda funny. I've been at my job a whole lot of years. And every Thanksgiving and Christmas they have provided dinner for the crew. Very nice thing to do. Most people appreciate it. Usually the food is just "ok" but the thought is nice. And, usually there are "SOME' leftovers.
This Christmas they did not provide it. Some people were angry becasue they did not bring food and there wasn't any place open to order dinner. They thought the company should have said that they were not providing dinner --- this tradition goes back at least 20 years. Some people complained.
So, tonight, without telling us, ( NY DAY ) they decided to provide dinner. Most people had brought dinner with them, as this has never been done on NY day before.
So, for about TWENTY employees, they supplied the following:
48 Hoagies
16 Pizzas
10 Large chef salads
10 Large garden salads
100 chicken wings
Soup... I would guess about 2 gallons
about 10 bags of chips and pretzels
20 two liter bottles of soda
72... yes, 72 slices of cheesecake... 3 cakes at 24 slices per cake. ALL OF THEM had cherries on top.
3 pies
and more condiments than 100 people would need.
Sometimes they get it.... sometimes they don't!

I agree with those who thought the least the company could have done would have been to acknowledge that they wouldn't be providing dinner on Thanksgiving and Christmas. It certainly not an obligation, but..........
Now that's a lot of food, hope the people who worked were allowed to take home some leftovers. Better yet they should have called their family's to come and have dinner with them.(I know against company policy)
