Sometimes, DNA evidence can confirm GUILT

It seems that we hear of DNA evidence being used these days to exonerate those prisoners unfairly convicted.

I'm sure that has happened, but it can also confirm the guilty.

DNA tests confirm man executed in 1992 was guilty
DNA test results announced yesterday confirmed the guilt of Roger Coleman, a Virginia coal miner executed in 1992 for the rape and murder of his sister-in-law. Coleman died declaring his innocence in Wanda McCoy's 1981 slaying. His supporters and death penalty opponents lobbied for the tests, convinced they would provide scientific proof that an innocent man was executed.

They talked to one of his biggest supporters yesterday on nightline and he said he didn't care what the results were he wanted to know. Poor guy had been lied to up until that man's execution. I am really glad that the truth is now out there regarding the case so there's no more what if's.

this one is actually super sad for everyone involved. I'm sure it drags up old wounds for the family and, even though theis lives have gone on, the tragedy of these events is rekindled. At least they have the satisfaction of knowing they guy wasn't innocent and there is no one "out there" doing this to someone else.

Pray for the people involved. I was actually just talking to my husband about this situation last night when the thing came on the news. It shows you, through the wonders of DNA, how very special and unique we all are. Through the tiniest amount of semen or skin cells or whatever, the investigators can identify you. You are also identifiable to God, the father. Instead of everyone worrying so much about how "the government" will get you, we should all worry a little more about how God will feel about our actions. Obviously, this guy was pretty broken by the time he raped and killed his sister-in-law. (Yuck! That means he did this to his wife's sister or his brother's wife. Yuck!)
