Hi - I am attempting to make a few ressies at Aulani - 12/31 - 1/5 Island View Studio and 1/5 - 1/12 - 2 Bedroom Ocean View.
This morning at the 7 month mark (8am) I wait listed 12/31 - 1/5 Ocean View Studio because it had 4 out of the 5 days available. 12/31 not available but 1/1 - 1/5 was. I chose that because the other studios only had 3 or less days out of that time frame available and I figured that one day would be easier than 2 or more.
My plan as of this morning was to log on tomorrow at 8am and book 1/1 - 1/5 and wait list 12/31 in the ocean view as well as wait list the entire time at the Island View rate with the stipulation to cancel my ocean view ressie if this one came through.

I just logged in to take a look and now 1/1 is not available in any category up to 2 Bedrooms - so here are my questions.
If 12/31 wasn't available anywhere - did EVERYONE who had already booked 12/31 at the 11 month window extend their vacations by 1 day? If I know the DVC rules well enough (been a member since 94) that really doesn't seem possible. Only someone who already had 12/31 booked could go the extra day and at 8am there was nothing available for anyone new to book 12/31.
Any other possible explanations?

I have never been wait listed for a holiday before (especially New Years) what do you think my chances are of getting these dates?
