Something special going on Nov 10, 2016?

Ive been checking availability to try and book our Nov trip (non-home location)....and almost every location we look at has that week open....but the 10th is unavailable. I know theres a MCMCP that night...and Veterans day is the next day....but I just cant find anything else going on. Any ideas?

Veteran's Day is quite enough. Big 3 day weekend for many.

A Thursday or a Wednesday? I've seen that trend at most of the times I've been looking at availability the past year. Best I could theorize is many owners leave before the weekend points kick in and then other owners start their weekend early thus creating a higher demand at the end of the week.

Veterans Day is Friday, it is the last weekend of Food & Wine, and that combination means the weekend actually begins Thursday. Also, I am not sure what you are seeing or what size room you want but my check of the week indicates a huge amount is already gone particularly for near park resorts. If you are looking at Poly, be aware of the trend it has been following for Oct and Nov. It has often been filling daily at exactly 8 a.m. at 7 months out (you win only if your computer communicates faster than others with Disney's computer), except that sometimes you see a day later in the week also filled. Based on what has been happening with Poly, those open dates you are seeing just beyond 7 months out are likely already very close to being filled completely so that seeing the 9th open and the 10th gone doesn't really mean wide open availability for other than the 10th..

Besides being Veterans Day weekend, the Jersey week thing is huge. The entire state of New Jersey has schools closed for teachers convention on Thursday and Friday of that week. (Many schools also have off for Election Day Tuesday of that week too.) Our school district also happens to do parent teacher conferences the beginning of the week so kids have a half day Monday and Wednesday of the same week. This makes for a perfect week to go on vacation but for those that don't want to pull their kids from school, they will go down on November 10 this year. To give you an example, I took this photo on Thursday November 5 last year (jersey week) after getting off Spaceship Earth. The white areas represent where people are from.
