I noticed that on Monday, May 9th, Magic Kingdom's extra magic hours show it staying open until 2 AM, which looks unusual for Mondays. Additionally, we were thinking about going to Discovery Cove on our next Disney trip and noticed their prices were also higher on May 9th. Is there something special going on that day?

Thanks in advance!

Grad night in in MK that on the 6 and 7 so the park is closing at 7pm those nights. I don't know if this is related to the 2 am EMH or not but that is my guess!

Yes. It is my birthday ;)
LOL. Honestly, I don't know why, but we are attending the EMH that evening...Last year, my b-day fell on mothers day, and we spent EMH PM hours at MK as well...Loved it :goodvibes

Thats my first day at Disney, I'm planning on staying till 2am too :goodvibes:

Mine too!! Have fun spending it in the mk! :goodvibes

Well happy early b-day to yall! We will be there on May 9th too and I also thought it was unusual that it was open so late, but no complaints from me!

I read that it is because of the early closings for grad night. They moved the EMH to Monday for MK and added on EMH to HS to spread out the crowds and help make MK not be as bad of a mad house on Sunday. I think I will be doing the EMH on Monday though, even if we go back to the room and take a nap so we can make it until 2am :goodvibes

We will be there too.. Although, that day was slated for NO park and we have ressies at Narcosses's.. But, now it gives us something to do at night.. WHAHOO!

Add us to the list of people going to the 2am EMH....we love going to these late night EMHs, it is like we have the whole park to ourselves :goodvibes

BTW, Happy Birthday to those who will be there on that day, and if I see any B-day buttons I will be sure to wish you a Happy Birthday in person :goodvibes

Mother's Day is May 8th, so maybe the resorts are fuller that weekend? :confused3 We'll be there!

Ok I have a question for you May 9th ers.. haha

I have already planned out my days.. and may 10th I was slated to be our second day at MK.. and may 9th was a day of rest.. So I made ressies at Narcosses's for Dinner on May 9th.. (nothing planned during the day) breakfast at Crystal Palace on the 10th and dinner at Ohana..
what is the rule of thumb for EMH? Do you go to the park that has them during the day as well as at night? or do you avoid the park until the night? I am think that I should change my ressies now and maybe still relax during the day at the pool but plan on staying out late night for EMH? What would you do?

LOL We're joining in too. Dinner at CRT that night then staying in the parks for the shows etc.

:thumbsup2

We usually avoid the park during the day....since it is usually a late night, we sleep in a bit, and pretty much relax during the day. :woohoo:

May 9th will also be our first park day. Our plan is Animal Kingdom, dinner at Cape May. We have been tossing around the idea of heading to Magic Kindgom from there.

If I understand correctly at the parks everyday they pass out a "schedule of events" for the day. Is the park the only place to get these? Or do they have that available at the resorts?

Thanks!!!!
