Hello all. We are just back from our (wonderful!) trip:scared: While at Universal we like to see the monster makeup show. this time, one of the 'hosts' was pretending to be choking and asked a lovely woman from the audience to give him mouth to mouth. The woman responded that she was from the UK. If he was too, she'd save him, but since he was American he could die. My husband insists that this was staged; if it was they should change it because the audience did not appreciate the humor. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone else heard the same thing at their show. I thought that the bit may have been staged, but that the woman just got nervous/excited/carried away and made a BIG mistake:confused3 . Anyone?

That wasn't it our show. The presenter came over stabbed and asked from the floor for help from a lady sitting in the front row. She was just laughing. I don't think it was staged the show you saw because they usually stick to the same lines in all the shows I have seen but this is the first time we saw this show so I may be wrong. Loved it by the way.

Yeah, we had the stabbing and he wanted the lady to pull the knife out, but she wouldn;t. No choking though. (this was August 2nd)

whatever she said, SHE said. they don't plant actors into the audience or feed them lines

Yeah, that's what I thought. At first her comment made me quite angry, and then I kind of felt sorry for her.... God knows I put my foot in my mouth often enough! And we love that show, too.:rotfl2:

so true...

i see this show many times on each universal trip and have since it opened.

nothing is staged with the audience.
you would be surprised what some people in the audience will say.

the actors are quick thinkers and always have a great come back.

Ouch, that wasn't very nice of her, now was it?

I am sure the actors gave her her due, as they normally do.

And after all those times we saved UK's but from the Germans and Russians, such in-gratitude. If it wasn't for us good ole Americans, they would be speaking either German or Russian over there right now.

Hey I was offended by this remark. The Brits do, do a lot to aid USA economy I believe with tourism and have stood shoulder to shoulder with the USA in present times, which has created bad relations with our nearest countries because of this stance.

The instance remarked on, was probably done in a humourous way which obviously has upset people who heard the remark by people who took it the wrong way. Sometimes the British humour is difficult to understand as is other countries sense of humours.

I was just joking along the same lines as the British lady was joking.

I'm a big fan of England, my ancestors are from there. I feel that the 2 countries are very close like brothers.

But nonetheless, the present state of Britian may not be the same if it wasn't for the USA's intervention in the world wars and the cold war. Britian is a very small country that could have been over whelmed by the Soviet Union if it wasn't for our Nuclear missile submarines to give them some pause. Just a fact.

I didn't mean to start trouble. I THINK she was trying to be funny and it just didnt come out funny. I can't imagine how hard it must be to actually THINK with all those people looking at you!! And the hosts did get her back... they SOAKED her at the end.:scared1: I was just curious if it was Universal's idea, or hers. no offense intended.;) :grouphug:

:grouphug: That's okay. Going off topic here but when were we under threat of a Soviet invasion? I just cannot remember reading about it. I certainly know about the Germans. Our country has had a history of invaders from the French, Italians, Vikings - just part and parcel of being a small country with other countries close to it.

I know currently we have USA missiles based locally to protect the USA from air threats. So it is nice to understand that our country is helping to protect the USA.:)

Going back on topic, I thought the show was excellent. I laughed so much. Our 'volunteer' was a middle aged Chinese looking woman called Sally and she was an absolute star, made the show.:)

Almost every time we have seen the show, the volunteer has been an elderly Asian woman.

and your point of the Germans are what?

That's interesting, I wonder if they get the most laughs. I didn't realise they picked from the audience from non volunteers, I would have sat at the back if I had known. 3 rows from the front felt a little bit close.:rotfl:

Only that the discussion had turned to invasions and obviously the Germans did want to invade my country last century. This thread is going off topic so I am not going to respond to any more comments on these lines.:)

yes, that would be appreciated.

there are many different ethnic groups that post on the dis.
we don't want any hard feelings.

Sorry, I was just joking, my bad.

I love all Europeans, met a lovely Russian girl just last week that was just great. So please forgive.

And I was referring to past German and Russian administrations ie Hitler and Stalin, which I think we can agree weren't very nice people.

the best makeup show I ever saw - they started with the arm cutting. a little kid in the audience started sobbing and screaming 'stop it, stop it, you're killing my grandma!'

they never stopped picking on him the rest of the show
