Something NEAT at Target today...

Target has a new program ( or atleast new to me) called FLAVORx... it cost $2.99 and the pharmacist will add flavor to the kiddos meds (script or otc) liquids. It won't change the strength or effectivness one bit. But it claims it will help even the WORST tasting meds go down easier. They have these flavors...

Apple, Banana, Banana-Orange, Bubble Gum, Cherry, Chocolate, Chocolate-Banana Pie, Chocolate Covered Cherry, Citrus Punch, Grape, Grapade, Grape Bubblegum, Lemon, Orange Cream, Pineapple, Raspberry, Sour Apple, Strawberry Cream, Vanilla, and Watermelon.

I thought it was pretty cool and was going to try it as DGoddaughter's each needed 2 liquid scripts, but they ended up being Grape and Bubble Gum flavored anyhow. =o)

We are going to try it next time though.

All I have to say is: "What about the adults, don't we get to have yummy meds too?!?!"...lol!

I am pretty sure our Rite Aids have that and I think it is for free.......could be wrong though. My kids have always loved liquid antibiotics and such....strange....

It's a good idea, just be careful. My MIL neglected to put the cap back on a small bottle of cough medicine tight enough and DS drank the whole thing, I assume if it had tasted bad he wouldn't have done it. Luckily it was a tiny bottle and he was fine. I can't tell you how many times I've told the kid medicine isn't candy but he's 4 so I guess it's not ingrained in his mind yet.

On another note I wish they had that when I was a kid, to this day I can't even look at cough medicine or any liquid emdicine without gagging.

Exactly! When I had to drink that GALLON of stuff last year for my colonoscopy prep, they wouldn't let me add any of this flavoring stuff. No fair!

How come kids get it, but we don't?

I agree, they should let us adults, the ones who are paying fo the meds to have better flavors too! I get bronchitis several times a year and I'm horrible about taking medicine b/c of the taste, and water doesn't get rid of that awful taste either!

The Rite aid by me has this and we have tried some of them in the past year...my daughter picks a new flavor each time to see what she likes. Certain flavors can't be mxed with certain drugs...chocolate can't be mixed with Zithromax (learned that with last weeks perscription!) Shes tried Bubble Gum, Cherry,chocolate, Apple (she hated that one) and watermellon....the Chocolate is her favorite and its 2.99 to add it.

But--I sort of like how my children wince when they drink meds. I never want them to think they taste good. Too dangerous, even with a safety cabinet and child proof lids.

When I was a child, my younger brother ate a container of Flinstones vitamins. Without going into details, it was very traumatic for all of us. He was ok in the end, but it was not fun

Now better flavors for adults is a different story

Now let me make you all laugh . I work at a Vets office and we have that for dogs and cats LOLOLOLOL Sorry but it is funny. We have had that for kids fabout 2 years .

I know the vitamins are a bad thing...lol! Fiance called me once when he was watching his at the time 3 yr old niece who's mom left a whole super sized bottle of vitamin gummy bears and she ate THEM ALL while he was indisposed. Yikes! I know if they would have tasted like "^%*%$#*&^" she would never have done that.
I do know that the twins I use to watch never took their meds (lots of health probs) so this would have been sooooo nice to have then.
