I woke up at 5am after having a dream we changed the dates of our trip and I had neglected to make reservations on time, so we were on the 14 hour drive there and I was frantically trying to get BOG reservations for ANY day we were going down there and many other reservations.

Maybe I need to not be on the dis so much :rotfl:

:rotfl2: #same

I had a nightmare a while back. We were at the podium for BOG (btw, I haven't been yet, so it was just some hazy but grandiose dark restaurant in dreamland) for my SO's birthday dinner. As we sat down I said, "oh no. I forgot to order the specialty dessert!!! Do you have any extra on hand?!" They did not. :scared:

We really do have a birthday dinner reservation at BOG this fall -- when I woke up I created a calendar alert to order the specialty dessert the week before we go :bitelip:

I was on the Magical Express bus one trip and overheard some heated discussion about ADRs. Seems the husband didn't believe his wife that they needed to book things ahead of time, and he was losing his mind trying to book restaurants while on the Magical Express bus to the resort!

I have changed. I don't even bother with Disney dining any longer. Good options at Disney Springs and Swan/Dolphin that have better food and don't require you to get up at 5 am for the privilege of overpaying for so so food!
No doubt you are right. But unfortunately we don't usually find ourselves wanting to leave the parks when we dine.....usually.

Disney nightmares. Can be common not long before your trip date. But I had one the other night with being in the MK and having no fast passes. And I'm not going back till March.

That's just a matter of opinion on the "so-so food". Beyond that, we aren't going to leave a park or wherever we are to go all the way to Disney springs to eat. I also kind of hate the vibe of Disney springs, so there's that too.

I know lots of others don't agree, but I've had some very good meals at BOG. I've never had a horrible meal any place, although some places are better than others. And going to Disney Springs is just too big of a pain for me. Nothing there seems worth the trouble of getting there.

I don't want to waste too much Park time going to Disney Springs.

With the way MYW is set up now, it doesn't make sense to blow a few hours just to dine at the Springs.

I like spending part of our resort day at DS. It is worth it alone for us for WPE.

Great places to eat in Disney w/out needing to go crazy for reservations:

Jiko
Sanaa
Boma
The Wave
Kona Cafe
Outside of Ohana, character dining and certain times at California Grill, most of the resort restaurants are easy to get.
Skipper Canteen (haven't tried yet, just reviews)
Quick service at Epcot and Animal Kingdom is outstanding. We also enjoy sit downs at Epcot. La Hacienda has great food. Morocco has good food. Spice Road Table was awesome!!!
And the new restaurants at Disney Springs do look promising!

This is so funny. I haven't had this dream but it sounds a little like my daytime disney panic attacks.
Right now, I'm freaking cuz at 180 days out, I can't get a single reservation on our list. Not one!

Hopefully more become available! Fingers crossed for you for some pixie dust!!

Food is a HUGE expense for any WDW trip but also part of the experience. We splurge for only a couple (maybe 3) ADRs for each visit.. Other times, we are counter service junkies! I don't think my wife has ever gotten EXACTLY what she wants but moves things around so we can eat at (her) must eat places! ;)

That is a great option for people with a car but we are forgoing renting 2 cars/minivans + hauling or renting4 car seats in exchange for using DME. Even Uber not an option with the car seat situation so we'll make do with ADRs and food delivery and QS at the resort.

Dedicated buses pick up at Disney Resorts and drop off at Disney Springs so it is often easier to get there then to take Disney transportation to another resort which usually involves transfers. https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/b...us-loop-is-now-open-for-disney-resort-guests/

Don't panic. When I tried to get my ADRs on June 1st at 180 days, I could only get 2 that I wanted at the time I wanted. Since then I've managed to get the ADRs I want. I decided to give touring plans reservation finder a shot and I got both the most important ADRs I wanted. I'm a convert. If you use the reservation finder only, it's free. I've found availability comes and goes for most restaurants as people tweak their plans. Don't give up. :)

Grrrrrr! According to the Touring Plans web site they found and ADR I was searching for yesterday. Of course today it is gone! It didn't notify me for some reason.
