We will be at WDW OCt. 29- Nov. 4 this year with our DD who will be 7. We don't want to do MNSSHP, but do want to do something fun where she can wear her Tink costume.

What, other than MNSSHP, is there to do at the World on Halloween? We are thinking of eating at 'Ohana that evening- maybe DTD for Trick-or-Treating? Anyone who has done any Disney Halloween stuff, your advice would be appreciated! :flower1:

We didn't have a child with us for Halloween, but we did have some fun doing different things. I'd recommend teh festivities at the Boardwalk. We got there as it was ending, but I know they had trick-or-treating, I believe a live band, and lots of decorations. It ended fairly early (no later than 9:00ish, if not earlier), so it's good for younger kids.

I also know that there was a hayride and stuff over at Fort Wilderness, and there was a campfire thing at Port Orleans.

As a side note, is there a particular reason you don't want to do MNSSHP, or is it just bad timing? I'd overwhelmingly recommend it, and your daughter would have a blast. I would advise possibly trying it on a non sold out night - for example, if they have it on the 29th, the day you arrive, I think it'd be a great thing for you to enjoy!

We went to DTD for trick or treating this past Halloween. Our kids, 9 and 7, enjoyed it. There were about 10-15 stores/locations around DTD giving out candy. There were other activities set up and live performances, but we didn't participate or watch any of it. I believe the festivities ran from 5-9. The crowds were heavy but manageable. I have never done MNSSHP, therefore, I don't know what I am missing. We had such a full schedule (and tight budget) that we opted not to purchase MNSSHP tickets.

The day before Halloween, the kids dressed up and went trick or treating at Sea World as well. The park was nicely decorated.

HTH,
Dan.

There is a Sleepy Hollow story-telling at Fort Wilderness campground. I think that there is a hay-ride there, also. My 10 year old (then) DD loved it when we went 4 years ago.

They have Halloween trick or treating, DJ Dance party for the kids and other great activities at Downtown Disney for Halloween!
