I just watched Travel Channel on Disney Cruise and I need to go on the cruise! You see how I said "need". LOL. We have two teenagers (15,13) - is there something for them on the cruise? How far in advance do I need to book? Who should I book through, directly through Disney?
Thanks for the information!

Yes, there is a teen club with various activities.

Generally, the farther in advance you book, the better the deal, although we booked our last cruise less than two months before departure and did OK on price. Personally, I asked several online travel agents (whose names I found through this message board) for price quotes and also posted a request at cruisecompete.com. Michelle at Magical Escapes was one of the cruisecompete folks who answered, and she had the best deal for us, and great service.

If you read posts on this board for a day or two, you'll probably get all the info you need. Good luck, and have fun!

Here's the link to Dave's Navigator page. The Navigator's are the daily list of activities. There's the daily one and then each age group has their own (you're wanting the ones for "Common Ground" or "The Stack" or "Aloft" for your teenagers). Select a cruise and you will get a list of the navigators available.

From this page you can get to Inkkognito's site for more current navigators.

My ds-13 did the Teen Wild Side excursion at CC. They snorkeled, kayaked and I believe they went bike riding. He really enjoyed it.

You can book this ahead. Of course my ds didn't want to book ahead. He was lucky there were 2 spots left about the 3rd day into the cruise. When he found out some of his friends were going, of course he had to go. LOL

He had a great time at the Stack. I think he mostly "hung out" with a group of friends he met. For him, I think it was mainly the freedom from us (he goes to our school) and staying up until 2 in the morning.

His group did do some of the activities, I'm not sure which. He did the Teen Pump It Up, which is a whole other saga in itself!!!

I'm about to be 20 this year and this is our 5th cruise (Oct. 2005) but my first year was back in 1999(3/4 day) and I loved it... I wasnt ready to get off. Then in 2001 and 2002 I stayed in the teen club every night! You meet so many people! But sadly when we went in 2003 I was 18 and you can only go til your 17 so I was kind of lost on what to do! So I say....GOOOOO!!! Your kids will love it! I sure did! :rotfl:

You can also go over to the Cruise Meets board once you have your cruise booked and "meet" some other DISers that are going. There should be others with teens in that group that your teens can "meet" prior to the cruise.

We recently returned from the western magic a couple weeks ago and my dd--16 and ds--14 both had a great time. They both did the wild side excursion at castaway cay and really enjoyed it too!! We did book this in advance. They went to the stack the first night of the cruise but it was a little slow, not too many teens at all there. It seemed to pick up thru the week. They met most of their friends playing basketball and while waiting for our other excursions. They ended up meeting several new friends and having a great time!! They are ready to go again! There's so much for them to do on the ship... dances, movies, and much more. And if you have a teenage boy like mine there is plenty of food which my 14 year old LOVED!!!!! As far as booking our cruise we booked about 9-10 months ahead of time and directly thru disney.
