Something for Christmas?

Hopefully someone can help me out on this. I am booking a package through AAA for a trip June 2007. My question is, can I get my tickets or ANYTHING that I can use for a Christmas present for the kids? I was hoping to get the tickets, wrap them up, say Daddy and I decided we had so much fun on our honeymoon we thought you would have fun on a honeymoon too and we thought you would like Disney World. That way they would know that we are definitely going sometime soon and 'Santa' could bring them anything they may need for DW.
I know this sounds horribly cruel, to get them a bunch of vacation stuff for Christmas but they have not touched 95% of their toys from last Christmas.

Maybe create and print your own disney ticket personalized for them, also you might add some homemade coupons for new items closer to the trip time, disney dollars, disney shirts, etc. If you are feeling bad about no other gifts, you might buy a travel game for each or something like that which could be useful for the upcoming trip. Also, I would add a small calendar so the kids could count down to the trip. I completely understand not wanting to buy tons of gifts. We dont buy alot for Christmas, mostly due to the same reason you have. Also, I want my girls to appreciate what they have and it seems they do when they dont have as much. The kids get no more than 3 gifts from us. One is usually a toy they asked for, one is a special gift from dad and the other is a special gift from me. We also buy one family game and one family movie and thats about it. We also pick a family who isnt able to provide gifts and play secret santa for them which the girls find fun.

If you can get the pin and lanyard set you can give them to them and say that is just the first part. For the second part you will bring them to Disneyworld to trade them

Lora- I totally applause your Christmas attitude!! There is such a huge societal contest to see who can get the most "stuff." Your girls will grow up with an appreciation for family and what they have, and with kind hearts who reach out to others less fortunate!! Good for you!

Don't feel "bad"- you are going to be giving your kids a very expensive trip and memories that will last a lifetime!! There is nothing cruel about it! I also agree with Lora- some homemade disney coupons, travel games, disney dollars would be awesome. Maybe also some Disney movies, guidebooks, etc. I was at wal-mart the other day and they had Tinkerbell and Princess and Star Wars suitcases for $14.88 that I plan on getting for my nieces for our May trip. You could make them each their own autograph books to take, or get them each a small camera so they can take their own pictures when they get there! You could really run with a Disney-themed Christmas or a vacation theme, and it will be superb! I think your idea is wonderful and your kids will have a great Christmas!

When we surprised our kids with a trip to WDW over sping break 5 years ago, we made a big production of the surprise on Valentines Day. They awoke to the breakfast table piled high with ALL of the Disney stuffed animals we had in the house. At the base of the animals were three envelopes - one for each child. Inside the envelopes was a valentine that said something to the effect of "We love you so much that we are taking you to Disney World for Spring Break!". There were also Disney dollars in the envelope. The kids still remember that Valentines day (and the youngest was just 3 then), and we get so much joy from looking at the pics of them opening the envelopes! S0 - don't worry too much about what STUFF they get - the message will be the thrill!

When my Godson found out he was going to WDW for the first time I surprised him with the Birnbaum's for Kids guidebook and some disney dollars. The entire family had a great time look and getting excited about their upcomming trip!

The ideas above are great!!! Wish I had thought of them. The disney dollars are great, it's 2 gifts in one, the dollars now then the souveniers they buy with them later. I love the idea of the Disney for kids book I think my boys need that now. Lanyard and a pin.....I still have mine from 16 years ago... Fanny packs would be nice, I was just reading about giving each child one so they can carry their own small stuff each day (less for mom and dad to carry.) Maybe a new Disney T-shirt to wear on their first day? Or Disney jammies for their first night? A photo album they can use for their pictures when they get back would be a good place to have a homemade certificate that tells them they are going to disney. I play around on design programs a bit,

A couple of other trip related gifts ..disposable cameras (film or digital) they are great from a kids view pics.

This is not WDW trip but you can use same idea:
For my BF on valentine's day I gave him a Gift Certificate for Cruise Credit on DCL-it was a home made gift certificate and for birthday (in a few days) I am giving him another for a state room surprise (that will be a gift basket when he/we arrive).

You can make the coupons/certificates for toys stay up late picka park etc!
