I was just wondering why it seems like EVERY. SINGLE. THREAD. happens to be on the DCP. I'm a college student and I have no plans on applying anytime soon. I guess I'm just wondering if there is anyone else out there who isn't applying and if there is anything else to talk about...like how hard college is lol

There's me! I don't plan on joining the college program even though it's fun to read about it at times. What college classes are you taking? So far my hardest class is general zoology but I'm not very far with the taking classes thing yet. I just started...

Yeah when I got here last year it wasn't as bad as it is now. We had a few discussions about things other than DCP. But I guess when people find DIS boards and they see college they just assume its the DCP discussion board and nothing else.

I think it also has to do with the time of year. Right now they're actively recruiting for the CP. I a couple of months it will be different I bet.

While I am planning on applying at some point (not totally sure yet, probably Spring 2012), I've got a while before that happens, so I'd love to talk about stuff besides the CP! I definitely understand about difficult classes... I'm taking business calculus and Texas government this semester.

general zoology can be difficult. i did fairly well and went on to comparative chordate anatomy (heavy memorization and evolutionary explanations) and that was by far the most difficult class. stick through it. oh, and dont let organic chem (if you have to take it) make you change your major!

the DCP and PI are constantly talked about because there is constant prep and conversation for tips for applications, interviews, etc. I would recommend looking into the PI because they offer a paid interview that directly deals with your major/career path.

but yes, a lot of threads on here are about the DCP and PI. There are other boards, i believe, that talk about other things. Feel free to talk about college, you will always get posts

Maybe between like April and the end of July so like 2 months hah but then the next huge wave of Spring 12s will come in sometime in July and that will be all that's talked about! Of course I'm a hopeful so I'll be posting my butt off!:cool1::surfweb:

Whoa this thread blew up quicker than i thought!! I forgot to subscribe when i made it:rotfl2:

Tegan_shade, oh that does sound hard!!! I'm taking a philosophy class this semester but I'm also taking a disney class (ikr!!!) which is actually getting really difficult!

WDW_lover_in_SC yeah i bet! I was just amazed at the fact that it was ALL about the program...might as well rename it! lol

Ajaz, yeah me too, evetually, like in two years, but for now, not really worried about it. Like I said, philosophy has been tough, by my disney class (it's called Mickey's American Dream) is actually very challenging!

DISNEY CLASS??? Where do I sign up?! That sounds amazing! I wish my school offered something like that. What does it count for? Like a history or elective?

haha i know right! I just about died when I saw it! It's a literature class. Basically, what we do is read the original version of a fairy tale, watch the movie, then read a critical essay on it. Sometimes we just watch a movie then read the essay. It has gotten pretty difficult though in the last month...the essays are really harsh and really hard to understand lol

Every time we try to start a topic that isn't CP related- it dies :confused3 I'd love to see more just college related posts.

Comparative chordate anatomy and organic chem... Now those sound interesting. Actually, the reason I'm taking zoology was cause it sounded the most interesting compared to gen. chem. and gen. bio. I only need it for some science credits. I'm actually trying for an art degree... This time. I also have half an applied science degree (associates for both) that I started in high school. The class seems to be all lectures though so I'm not usually paying as much attention as I should but the labs are always interesting.

I bet it would be fun to take a Disney class. Even with the essays. So is that class offered at several places or just at your college? I didn't take philosophy... I don't think I have to either... Probably a good thing for me. :rolleyes1

I still gotta research colleges. I'm going to a two year college right now just to get started but when this year's over I may have a year left (two if I decide to complete both degrees) but after that I wanna transfer somewhere. Just don' know where yet.
Of course, lol, my friends say I gotta figure what I wanna do with my life first.
Everytime that subject comes up, my mom says that I outta be an imagineer. Actually, I think that'd be rather cool.
Doing what as an imagineer though... well that's another mystery, lol.

haha, i made a thread about finals at the end of last semester. glad someone else feels like there can definitely be more/different chatter on here.

For the people taking zoology classes... I can probably shed some light. I just finished my degree 2 weeks ago. My hardest classes were my taxonomy classes, in which I took three. One on parasitology (which turned out to be one of my favorites), one of insects, and one on fish.

Zoology is a lot of hard work, and unfortunately it doesn't really get easy until after college... I hope. It is a lot of fun though as well and you do learn a lot. So I hope you guys enjoy!

Luckily, I only had to take general chem and physics when it came to science classes outside of bio. No ochem for me thank god.
