Something Different

The last time I can recall seeing any child with a pacifier was a young lady between the ages of 8 and 10 y/o being pushed in a Disney rental stroller (the plastic type) by her mom; her brother (also older) was being pushed by their dad in the same type of stroller but bypassed the pacifier. Turns out the girl was sucking on a lollipop shaped like a pacifier and the parents were making up for not hitting the gym that day by pushing their kiddos.

They aren't very common for LOs in my area.

PH was breastfed as well, never had a bottle and refused a paci, we asked (demanded) that she not be offered one by the nurses for her check ups in while still in hospital.

PA was off a paci by 6 months.. thank goodness.

PT had it till she was about 2.. BAD BAD BAD mom I was!! Now, I am still reeling from dental bills, braces and speech therapy UHHH.

if it's any consolation, my kid who REFUSED a pacifier and was EBF until he self weaned is the one who has all of the dental bills and needs braces.

My bottle fed, paci loving DS2 has perfect teeth and nary a cavity. Go figure.
