Something cool for DH to do while DD and I have princess tea?

1.) It either has to be at MK or one of the resorts, because we are won't have hoppers, and we're definitely going to be at MK that day...won't be able to get in to one of the other parks.

2.) The hours are something like 10:30 am to noon for the tea, so that may eliminate some options.

I know DH would not want to do a princess tea with us, and I'd like to plan something nice for him so he won't feel left out. He's not much of a loner, so he wouldn't "do" MK alone while we're gone, unless he's got some sort of organized activity planned for him. He'd probably just retreat to the hotel room and watch tv. While he wouldn't be grumpy about it, I don't want him to get the short end of the stick while DD and I have tea with royalty, lol.

If he's at a resort, he could rent a water mice and have a cool boat ride around the lagoons. How cool is that?

We'll start the day at MK, and then leave for our tea. So he can go from MK to whatever resort - it doesn't matter which. We'll be staying at ASMo, so not much there...where are the water mice, and can they be booked in advance?

Here are a couple of ideas:
*I really love the water mice idea. My husband LOVES riding the mice! Your husband can wander on down to the marina at the Grand Floridian.
*He could do a Richard Petty ride-along. The shuttle picks up right at the Ticket and Transportation center. There are no reservations - you just go over to the shuttle (near the kennels), and get in line. When my husband and I did it during Christmas (very busy) the entire thing took about an hour, including the shuttle. The experience allows your hubby to ride three laps with a professional driver. www.1800bepetty.com

water mice are little mini speed (not much speed ) boats. You can rent them by the 1/2 hour. They are alot of fun!

I agree that the water mice at GF are probably the best choice. An hour is plenty enough time on one. The only other option is he could tour the hotels (free):
take the monorail to CR and/or Poly
take a boat ride to WL and walk the trails.

What every you choose, the time will go very quickly

If he's into it, Fishing. The boat excursions are not cheap, but there's also a stocked catch-n-release pond.

We were in a similar situation in Dec., except we were going to MVMCP that night, so DH couldn't even go to MK - besides, he gets mixed up at the mall, so I didn't want him wandering too far alone, especially since it was our first day on our first trip. I was totally surprised when he asked if he was "allowed" to go to the tea. He didn't want to miss DD's big surprise. I figured he'd be the only dad there, but we saw at least 5 other dads at the one we attended.

I too was surprised. DH and my BIL both want to come to tea with my niece, mom, sister and I.

That said, some of the tours at Disney do not require admission or are in MK where he'd be all set. Maybe you could give them a call and see if there's one that fits your desired timeframe -- 407-WDW-TOUR .

If he golfs, he may want to take some time at the driving range, or doing the Oak Trail 9 hole course.

I agree with asking him. My husband would choose to laze around and read or something. He likes the vacation part of vacationing! And yet our love survives!

Are you talking about the tea party at the GF? Is there another tea party that would be affordable for DW and DD's(8). I would love to surprise them.

Will you be at the GF? If so, he might like to try out the GF spa. I believe a one day pass for the healthclub and lounge is $14. It's really relaxing and my DH loves to spend as much time there as possible. He can have a light workout (if he wants) or just use the mens lounge. They have lockers, a changing area, lounging area, showers with razors, hair products, a sauna, steam room and whirlpool. It's a private area and the women have their own. Of course, he'd have time for a 50 minute swedish massage also.
