something big happening in the world week after thanksgiving ?

just called CRO to check on something, and there are no other rooms available at CR besides the deluxe garden suite $740 per night! -

WOW glad i made my ressie a while ago! - if i havd waited i might not have gotten to stay at CR
BUT....is there something happening at WDW that week? i thoguht it was slow season? - nov29- dec 4th?

That is not only surprising to me, but a little disappointing....I am not planning on being at WDW this year, but I have been keeping an eye out on things to get a feel for how things will be NEXT year at that time.... Keeping an eye on when AP rates come out, etc.
We were planning on staying at a deluxe too, (beginning of December) and I hope that i can even get AP rates. But I don't know of anything happening right after Thanksgiving because I have never been at that time before. As far as I knew, it was slow season too! Looking forward to any info as well...

I know that Florida residents book either Friday or Saturday night, on most week-ends in December. So it may be only one night that is sold out, but that would block all the dates if just one night isn't available.

I would think that since Thanksgiving is the 26th of November and most people are still off Monday the 29th WDW would still be crowded for at least that weekend.
Most likely if someone would change their dates to arrive around the 30th, then there may be a better chance of getting a reservation

It 's Mousefest and that is Dec 5-13 but we don't hit WDW until the 9th.

could be driving the prices up (which is silly, cause they mostly stay at the values)

Here's hoping for AP rates! We have 2 AKL concierge rooms booked and we REALLY need a discount!

the CR is a convention hotel too. If there is a convention around that time, they may be holding a block of rooms. If they are and they don't all book, they will release them after the hold expires, typically about 45 days prior.

I booked POR two rooms for 11/30-12/6 without any problems with the new email codes. I also had one room at the Poly at first for the same time frame. We decided to go with two rooms at POR instead. If you are trying to book with a code for this time remember they only offer a set number of rooms at that rate.
