Hi all-
Sorry, been MIA :guilty: Been very busy yesterday.
Chrissy was sick so I had her stay home yest and take a sick day from school yest. She came home on monday from school very tired and shivering. She said she felt like that the last hour of school. Anyways, she had a fever and had a runny nose. By Monday night she was shivering real bad,. Kept giving her Motrin every 6 hrs. She was real tired on Tues morning, so had her stay home. She seemed to have broken her fever sometime on Tues morning. I gave her a bath and washed her sheets, etc. She was fine after that. I did have to drag Chrissy yest afternoon for Matthew's band practice(since band practice is at another school).
Matthew had his first band concert last night! He did great! I don't remember if I mentioned what he played before, but he plays the clarinet. I asked my mom at the last minute to watch Chrissy at home last night, so we didn't have to drag Chrissy to the concert last night. I did manage to pick up Burger King for dinner on our way home from band practice yest afternoon(need BK smilie here). I was pretty exhausted yest afternoon and last night.

Today, both kids are at school(Matthew has a cold, too, but not that bad).
Now I have a massive headache, woke up with it this morning w/ a slight sore throat. :headache:
I hope I don't get a phone call today to go pick up my kids.

Rose - hope you are all feeling better.

Sounds like a sucessful band concert! Do you have have photos. I remeber some of those beginner concerts. Very painful to listen too. :rotfl2:

I got my W2s e-mailed to me! :yay: :yay:

E-filing FTW!

Crap. That reminds me that I have to do W-2s this week.

well....of course!!! (Nobody seemed to pick up on the "knife" comment when we were talking about spoonin' and forkin'....:confused3 .....DH & I used those terms all the time with a good laugh!)

I got the "that's not knife" comment and laughed... I just didn't post the laugh... sorry! :guilty:

How's the sinus thing?? Any better?? Your slight PUI help it at all last nite??

It's not any worse, maybe a bit better. I'm hoping it clears up on its own.

Oh, and I jokingly picked Chattanooga because it is an easy 1.5 hour drive from my house. If there were a meet there, I know I could make it. I could have just as easily said Atlanta. I'm just so far away from all you guys... :upsidedow

Came home from work today and decided to have a Bloody Mary:

Yes, not only do I stand by and watch. I take pictures.

Awwwww, cute little kitty. Did she knock over the glass?
One of my kittys will drink water out of a glass. I always have a glass of water on the nightstand when I go to bed. Learned real quick to keep it covered! :lmao:

Write a novel (I have the title, just need the story ..... )

What's the title?? We'll help you write the story!!

Goooood kitty..... you must have picked THE perfect cat for you guys..... one that likes the alky-hol!!!!

What commercial were you in? Didn't know you were a celebrity! :worship:

I was in a commercial for AT&T a few years back!

Describe the commercial. I have to look for it on YouTube now... :rolleyes1

C'mon Jodie....ya KNOW we are gonna look for it.... spill the beans.... (er, I mean, info....leave Tracie's kids alone!)

Except Barb's pirate banana in her siggie. I look at him every time. It took me forever to figure out that he was holding a sword and not something else.

Loribell said:
I guess I need to look at Barb's pirate better, never noticed.

How did you guys NOT know it was a sword?? :confused3 Thought the 'hat' was dead giveaway!!!

Hey Alison! Yes, Carol continues to improve. I talked with her twice yesterday and she was down right b*tchy. Must be getting better if she is fussing!

Glad to hear this :goodvibes

....yes, she fixed my tooth, 'cept it's driving me nuts. She intentionally left the bonding thick so it wouldn't fall off this time, and it's thicker than my other teeth. To the point where my tongue is getting sore because it automatically goes to the thick tooth as if to say, "this isn't supposed to be here!"

any better today??? Ole tongue gettin' used to it yet??? ......and, where is that pic mac wanted??

Okay, I HATE when your tongue does that and you can't make it stop!

they have a great 3 day DCL cruise rate for our dates in Oct. Booked it, cheapest cat. 12 they have, hope for an upgrade.

ctually coming out cheaper (after OBCs) than staying @ RPR & food for 3 days @ U ......

my strategy is to not buy MYW tix for WDW & do 2 nights @ MNSSHP party & rest of time @ Universal as a :scared: gasp - day guest:rotfl: . Throw in a HHN, hopefully @ cheapo AP rates on Wednesday.

 :scared1:  :scared1:

It's doing ok but still flares up every now and then when the dog gets too close or I forget and pet him and touch my face after I pet him but what can you do cause my DW and DS's love him so I have to learn to live with it.

Lawrence....are you on ANY allergy pills/meds???? This is a shame to have to live like that...for your little "booger" :sad2:

Oh, and I jokingly picked Chattanooga because it is an easy 1.5 hour drive from my house. If there were a meet there, I know I could make it. I could have just as easily said Atlanta. I'm just so far away from all you guys... :upsidedow

Oh, c'mon now ... I'd love Chattanooga. I would have no excuse for visiting my in-laws then in TN. That would make for the perfect DISmeet. :scared1: If we get to vote, I am voting for Hershey Park. I'm just saying.

Sharon, Princess Peanut is interested in anything I'm eating and/or drinking. The glass hopped and splattered a bit. Thankfully, with 2 kitties I always have Resolve on hand. So, if you covered your bed-stand water (I have bed-stand water too. :) ), I guess you don't share ice cream with your kits? Mike gets disgusted when I do that. Or sweet milk at the end of cereal. And yet, I will not change a diaper. Go figure.

Tricia - our forecast is also a winter storm warning, but for 6 inches of snow beginning tonight. Better not be a snow day because tomorrow (and today) are finals. DS12 takes 2 classes (math and science) at the high school. Apparently everyone in his science class (mostly DS14's classmates and friends) hate him because he's doing so well. Last test class average was a 57, he got a 100. Today after I picked him up after the final to drive him to the middle school he said "well, they still all hate me". Teacher graded the tests and once again he got the only 100. He can't understand how the other kids can find it hard - he was like "Mom, the questions were exactly the same as the study sheet he gave us. They even had the same NUMBERS!" :confused3 Going to guess others didn't look at the study sheet!

If I remember right, your older son is taking AP classes?
Tell him to study hard before the AP test. It really is worth it to get a good score. They grade on a 1 -5. 5 being the best. Most colleges will accept a 4 or 5, a few will do 3's.
James just got the transcript sheet from Embry Riddle, and his 3 AP courses got him 16 credit hours. Plus, he has taken 2 courses at our local university and Calculus 2 on-line, so that will give him 10 more credit hours. He will be starting college with at least 26 credits behind him. Pretty cool.

Ah, yeah, I'd hate your middle DS too if I was a kid! :lmao:

A good colon cleanse should take more than a day to do and you want to do a good one. I'm thinking the foot pads wouldn't taste very good though.

Lori - Loved the colon cleanse story! :lmao:

Wait ... did i miss Janet booking a DCL cruise?!!!!! Now I have to go back and find it!!!

Barb, I don't think you could help me write my book because it is actually about my father. I just need a back story to tie it all together because it is not going to be biographical per se. My father has a wicked sense of humor and he's wicked smart. I used to tell him when I was little that I was going to write a book called, "My Father, the ******." It never fazed him. He's just lucky he's a funny Butt hole. Our cruise this summer should be very entertaining.

Oh, and I think, Barb, you should offer baby Tink free hair services for life!!! :goodvibes

Hey, lookie...

Snow2-1.jpg

They got it right! We got snow! French toast, anyone?

Joshua needs a sleep-in day at home. Okay, I need for Joshua to have a sleep-in day at home.

BTW, I'm drinking a rum & coke. Haven't had one in AGES. Possible PUI on the horizon.

Okay....I know you got your "snow" day...but did HE sleep in?? ;) (By the way...we haven't had ANY accumulating snow yet...YOU actually beat us to it!) We are supposed to get snow, then sleet then finishing up as rain today..... Should start mid afternoon....

Tricia..I am jealous!!!! I soo want snow!!

Oh, and I've got a good buzz going... :rolleyes1

oohhhhh Brrraaaadddddd:rolleyes1

Me: "Why are you turning left here?"
Brad: "This leads us to Ellijay. I know how to get home from Ellijay."
Me: "I'm looking at the map. This road is a tiny red line that heads into the green shaded area of the mountains. We need to stay on this road for another 2 miles then head east."
Brad: "I'm already committed."
"Because you are in a turn lane?"
"It'll be fine."
We make the turn. Big warning signs about Steep Grade ahead... No Trucks... No passing... etc.
Me: "I really think it would be worth it to turn around and head down the road a couple of miles."
Brad: "It'll be fine."
"Whatever this is, we're going to be stuck on it for 23 miles."
"It'll be fine." (now delivered in an irritated tone of voice)

The road was horrible. Two lanes carved into the side of a mountain with no guardrails. We couldn't do more than 25 to 35 miles per hour for most of it. Thank goodness Daniel slept through it.

He may NEVER live that one down. :headache:  :rolleyes1

 :rotfl2: Typical man....yep...keep that for the future :thumbsup2 It WAS a good thing Daniel was sleeping through it....

morning threaders!
all the weather Barb will get today we get all day tomorrow.

i have the air cast to clunk around in in the house, and it is helping.

:thumbsup2

I found this nanner for Joshua and Fbean.....
BannanaMario.gif
Mario rocks!!!!

Baby girl is now named - Cierra Grace - I think its nice :goodvibes Apparently the boys were like little demons last night in the hospital. The youngest (3yo) ripped the bow out of her hair (the hospital put it there after she was born) they were rolling on the floor and trying to run out in the hallway :scared1: :scared1: They are a handful for sure :faint:

I am SO tired today but I volunteered to help out in Frank's Kindergarten class today......need lots of coffee (meh - that caffeine doesn't effect me anymore) I have been up since 4:40am (didn't go to sleep until 11:30) .....couldn't go back to sleep.....gonna be a long day. We are all going to see the baby tonight at the hospital :yay: (oh, and SIL too)!

Let me go walk the dog - maybe the brisk air will clear the ever present cobwebs :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2:

this is news for you.

I have never quit a job before. well i did. I quit first week of January. I did the right thing and DH supported me 200 percent. then, less than 48 hours later my nephew passed away. so while having been a wacky two weeks, yes i am looking for a new job and doing well, despite crashing and burning monday with the snowblower.

so, compared with others in this world, i am doing pretty damn well. :thumbsup2

According to my Weather Channel toolbar, we currently have 28 degrees, with "Unknown Precipitation"!

Unknown Precipitation?!? Was it raining cats and dogs or something?! :lmao: :lmao:

Glad to hear your Dad is doing better. Is there a dialysis center near where he lives?

January 16, 2008 DISASTER! A MAJOR MOTION PICTURE RIDE.STARRING YOU! OPENS
TODAY AT UNIVERSAL ORLANDO RESORT

Orlando, Fla. (January 17, 2008) - Disaster! A Major Motion Picture
Ride.Starring You! opens today at Universal Studios Florida. The new
attraction features the first-ever use by a theme park of a high-tech
virtual imagery technology called "Musion" and a special appearance by
Hollywood actor Dwayne Johnson.

Disaster! replaces Earthquake and combines the best, most dramatic elements
of Earthquake with an all-new storyline, top name celebrities, new "Musion"
technology and all-new interactive elements. Park guests enter "Disaster
Studios" and become part of the production action surrounding a "major
motion picture."

Johnson was at Universal Studios Thursday for the opening of the new
attraction. In the attraction, Johnson plays a film hero who helps "save
the day."

Musion technology is a unique high-definition video projection system that
transforms two-dimensional images into what seem to be live
three-dimensional images. The Musion set in place at Disaster! is the
first-ever use of the technology by a theme park and the largest permanent
installation of that technology ever. Universal uses Musion technology to
bring Disaster Studio Director "Frank Kincaid" to life as he explains the
passion behind his work and recruits guests to take part in his next
picture.

"The use of Musion technology in this attraction allows us to blend illusion
with reality to surprise and entertain our guests," said Mark Woodbury,
president of Universal Creative for Universal Parks and Resorts. "They are
amazed by the effects we have created."

Throughout the 15-minute attraction experience, guests are filmed as extras
for different elements of Disaster Studios' newest blockbuster film, "Mutha
Nature," taking direction from Frank Kinkaid and his production assistants.
In the end, they are able to see the results of their work in a
tongue-in-cheek trailer for the film, starring Johnson. Disaster! A Major
Motion Picture Ride.Starring You! is located in the San Fransisco area of
Universal Studios Florida.

Dwayne Johnson is best known for his roles in Universal Pictures' The Mummy
Returns, The Scorpion King and, most recently, The Game Plan. Now a firmly
established presence in Hollywood, he can be seen in the upcoming Warner
Brother's comedy GET SMART opening in theaters June 20, 2008. Johnson is
currently filming the family comedy Witch Mountain scheduled to be released
in the summer of 2009.

I'm really ashamed of the commercial I was in. They created a character at my job called Kandu. It started by them sending all the employees a round, yellow, fuzzy ball with little cardboard feet, antennae, and the googly eyes they use in lots of crafts. It had a little ribbon attached that said something like "Yes, we can do!" They wanted to promote this to the public and I lost a bet with the big, big, big boss so he made me put on a costume that was supposed to look like the little yellow ball. They made the body out of bright, yellow, long-haired fabric. To cover my legs they made me don these plus size women's green tights. My shoes were huge green plastic clown shoes. The antennae were glittering silver balls on a hair clamp to the head thing. I had huge yellow clown glasses and they got hair paint and colored my hair and beard yellow. Like Mickey Mouse I didn't talk but unlike MM you could tell who I was! I did 2 commercials in this get up but that wasn't enough. They had me do a promotion at the mall and they gave away the little yellow balls. Kids would see me and try to figure out who I was supposed to be. The best was, "Look, Mom, it's Big Bird!" Embarassing!

They could tell who you were? Green tights? Oh, how embarassing! We have to see a picture, surely Mrs Motherfletcher has one!

I want some SNOW !!!

Welcome here  (feel free to share your name or any other nickname you'd like us to address you by....) While you ARE welcome here and we like new friends, on behalf of MOST of the peeps on this thread, I am afraid I will have to "flog" you (in a different sort of way) for the snow comment....

j/k :rotfl: feel free to take raven's, penny's, sharon's, marcie's and any I might get :rolleyes1

.....the mounds around my driveway are getting as tall as I am is making me less enthusiastic! :confused3 Shoveling's always harder when you have to lift the snow over your head!

 :sad2:

I suppose I could always use Penny's injury concept!

I'll be glad to share large quantities of our snow with anyone who wants some!

see coastermom....toldya!!! :thumbsup2

Anyways..spoke with mom. Apparently dad's doing better but I was wrong that they would know for sure stuff today.

Keep your fingers crossed!

I am!

I pulled out my pay statement I got yesterday and...surprise!! My new paycheck is now LESS than my old one!

update please!! A good thing you check it carefully.... that's how I figured one of my previous employers was stealing money out of my paycheck.... :headache:

when we visited Utah a couple of years ago we drove up some canyon to check out a ski area. mind you, it was summer and there were like NO GUARDRAILS anywhere and he was driving and I said never, never again.
this year, he can drive up it himself or maybe there is a bus.
I AINT riding shotgun and looking down. I will ride in an airplane but i dont really like looking out windows more than 3 stories. last sept at the Dolphin I called 4 times to make sure we were never above the 3rd floor. and when we at at the top floor of the contemporary(cali grill) we got seated right away one night because i said we needed to be well away from the windows.....he is not a real height fan either....

So, what you're saying is bungee jumping NOT on your bucket list?? :confused3

You guys actually WANT snow?

I don't get it either D!?!? :confused3

We had a somewhat similar situation back when GPS systems were new.

We were on our way to a wedding in VT. I am usually the navigator, but DH had a newfangled gift called a GPS.

Even now, 3 GPS units later, I still take along a map! But, I will admit, the new ones are really alot better.

:rotfl2: good story....thank YOU for the laugh.... a few 'men not asking directions' stories goin' around....and you KNOW Jodie has one about Mike.... c'mon Jodie...spill it!! (unfortunately, my DH has a frightening good sense of direction...so, I don't have any stories :guilty: )

My son James was bothering by carsickness for years. From about 4 years to 12 years. It was so bad he couldn't ride for more than 1/2 hour. He would actually be physically sick to his stomach. We always had a roll of paper towels and a bucket in each car. His Dr prescribed Claritin (the allergy med) for him. Worked like a charm, as long as we had 1/2 an hour notice.
The first time he was bothered with it was when we were at WDW when he was 4. It was horrible. He couldn't go on any rides that spun around. Just getting from WDW back to MCO was a trip in itself. We had to stop every 10 minutes or so and let him walk around. I felt so bad for him. It did get him out of that hour long bus ride back and forth to school thou!

That is awful...glad he grew out of it. Kinda makes you wonder what kids these days do?? :confused3 They're not even supposed to be IN the FRONT seat till age 12.....what if they get that sick all the time?? I used to feel nauseous in the backseat when we'd drive to Phila. to visit family....but never got sick. Turns out years later I figured out what it was....reading and/or my Dad smoking...with the windows up! :sad2:

According to my Weather Channel toolbar, we currently have 28 degrees, with "Unknown Precipitation"!

What is "unknown precipitation" :confused3 Do they honestly NOT know, or just not sure what's coming?

1.gif
was good tonight..

Loved the ending :lmao:

morning, getting ready to grab an blankie & crawl on the big comfy couch (anyone remember that pbs show?) late for my 1st one, ds usually has brought me home a bug from skool by sept
[/SIZE]

Janet - drinks lots of fluids. Hope you feel better soon!
