5 hrs of Polka music from the Polka band, for her wedding reception :crazy2: :faint:
That's why God invented beer, trust me, I'm Polish, and have filled in with Polka bands back in the day when I was playing in bands (drums) for a living. It was crazy, going from playing in a rock band one night (it was in the 80s, we were playing tunes from Rush, and Van Halen) to playing a wedding reception with traditional Polkas sung in the native language.

Back to my original point, 5 hours of Polkas=Beer :lmao: :thumbsup2

maybe bonny does have dog sleds..........jk bonny...

wonder if it'd be cheaper than petrol;) , might be onto something

tricia- forgot to offer my suggestion to keep the boys occupied before Xmas: Playdough:)...even better, google the recipie for the home-made stuff & let them have @ it! (if all else fails, stick a spongebob DVD in the tube & lock urself in the bathroom:laughing: )

Yes Elyse we love trippies. I hate the post vacations blues. I hate it so much I seem to have gotten into the habit of postponing vacations so I don't go through it.

I can definitely relate!!

elyse, do a trippie!!

and use the pics.

we all love those things.
we really do.

this is why our thread here is unique.
it is more than just a thread about questions and answers in the universal forums.
it is a chat thread where we can share with each other.
i would like to hear more about the great wolf lodge.

Elyse-TRIPPIE-TRIPPIE-TRIPPIE-with pixs!!:)

I'm too lazy too do it that way(I like getting my post count up;) )But its easy, start a photobucket account of coarse and have diffrent albulms-then paste and copy:thumbsup2

:sad2:
EPRV - go ahead and do the trippie separately so you have your own thread to save and refer back to. I still go back and reread my Disney TR just because it's fun to read and remember all the stuff we did. A year or two down the line you'll have forgotten all of the trip and it's a great way to have it somewhere!

yes elyse, please a trippie...don't let it fall by the wayside;) i have yet to finish one from July:guilty: , after xmas for sure:goodvibes . we haven't tried great wolf yet, but did really like Kalahari in sandusy

Thanks everyone for the great encouragement. :goodvibes

After the Holidays, I'll definitely plan on putting together a little trippie. I'm a trippie addict myself, I love to read them! But, I think if I try it now, I'll curl up in the fetal position under my desk. (Too much Christmas stuff left undone!!).

Especially since it took me about 20 mins just to get this multi quote together...... Need to learn the easy way to do things.... :surfweb:

Here's a question for my upcoming trippie. What is everyone's opinion on photos including your children? I see many people posting them... I have also read trippies where the poster never shows their family's faces. What does everyone think?

It's snowing here now. Maybe we'll get to try out the new snowblower!! Wooohoooo!!

Thanks guys!! :lovestruc

Rose and Marcie and Mike (oh my! ) - Is traditional German music like traditional Polish music? The little tourist trap town near me does Oktoberfest and we've gone and listened to the bands play. Joshua calls it the "oom-pah" music. Sounds very polka-ish to me most of the time. Lots of accordian solos too. We even saw one group that played those long horns like in the Ricola commercials (I'm sure they have a name, but I just think of RIIII-CO-LAAAA when I see them).

Donald - Speaking as someone who recently had to use the services of Hospcie, tell your wife thank you for all she does.

Dave - My son has made more trips in an ambulance than I care to count. Ditto the thanks to you for all you do.

Janet - I don't think there is enough Play-Doh in the world to keep the boys quiet and still. Unless I made a gag out of it and stuffed it in their mouths. Hmmm... now there's an idea... ;)

Katie - Will I see you on Say Yes To The Dress? And I'm not upset about your brush with the boys from Time Bandit. If you had said the Hansen brothers from Northwestern, then I'd be jealous. Still, any connection to Deadliest Catch is a good one. :goodvibes

Rob - You'll be 24? Can I smack you just for being so young? No? Okay, just checking. ;)

Mac -

If I missed anyone, sorry. Attention span dwindling... bed calling... nighty-night!

maybe bonny does have dog sleds..........jk bonny...

nope no dog sleds here ... although I've thought of hooking one of the dogs up to a kiddie sled and having them pull me around :lmao:

By the way - evening all

You're welcome to my new snowblower - provided you take the snow with it!

And I don't know what to tell you regarding pics. Obviously I'm of the "post lots of pics" camp, but my boys are teens and I'm not really concerned about someone abducting them. The biggest concern would be someone at school possibly seeing one of their pics in which I made them wear matching shirts or a fanny pack!

(and yeah, that pic even had their name on it!). Anyways, I can understand someone being cautious about it and certainly wouldn't blame them if they felt uncomfortable doing it. Guess it just comes down to how you feel!

i think it was ben franklin that made that phrase:
God invented beer for us to drink because he loves to see us happy..

based on this from wikipedia:

"We hear of the conversion of water into wine at the marriage in Cana as of a miracle. But this conversion is, through the goodness of God, made every day before our eyes. Behold the rain which descends from heaven upon our vineyards; there it enters the roots of the vines, to be changed into wine; a constant proof that God loves us, and loves to see us happy. The miracle in question was only performed to hasten the operation, under circumstances of present necessity, which required it."
Letter to Abbé Morellet (1779)

the city i grew up in has oktoberfest yearly..........the town square is closed off for all the beer booths and food booths........

i still haven't figured out how to get the pics off the camera into a photobucket so you don't see any of my kids.
:rotfl:
only had the camera for 2 years this month and still haven't read the manuel.
too many words in it. :rolleyes1

back to your question, i like seeing families in pics.
it never dawned on me a possible risk for the child by bad people.

just do what you and your dh thinks is best.

i know what you should do.
go over to the community board on the motherland side and make a poll.
they will be glad to help you make the decision of post the kids pictures or not.

since you brought it up marci, how do you get the boys and the big boy to wear matching shirts?

i could never get mine to wear the same color on the same day even though they went to different schools......

Hey guys :wave2:

Sorry I haven't been around...been very busy. This is my busy season at work. My shopping is finished and mostly wrapped. Still have some baking I want to do...next couple days slated for that.

Just wanted to say HI to everyone...hope you are enjoying your holiday season!

here is the official universal link:

and here is the thread where we were discussing it:

now universal has added kids eat free at the park.
if you book the promo that is out, stay 4 nights, get 3 free, the kids can order off the kid menus...

For staying onsite, Disney is still cheaper (I'm paying about the same price to stay at RPR as my hoterl, DDP and ticket with PH combined). Course, the ADR's will be the death of me. And to think I liked planning things months in advance.

That's why we stay on-site at Disney - with the AP rate we get, it's much much cheaper ... we can stay a week or so at Disney for the price of a couple nights at Universal

About 20+ years ago, my brother got married up in Keishadow's neck of the woods and had the "BEST POLKA" band in PA.

I was 18 (laws were you had to be 18 to drink back then) and trust me you needed some beer. Besides who can drink the Beer Barrel Polka w/o some?

morning homies.............

just think, as of 5:00 today, only 2 more work days this week......:woohoo:

Yeah, but next week's a nice short one! :thumbsup2

As far as my guys, they know that some things are non-negotiable. Like lime green DIS shirts on a Disney Trip. :rotfl: They started boycotting wearing them anywhere else many years, although maybe sometimes a bit for camping because I was recycling old ones. It's easier to pack when I just kept all our sets together and when it was time to go just grab 3 sets of tshirts and threw them in a duffle. More recently I only used like bike tour or fun run shirts - mostly normal white shirts, just matching.

This is the first year they didn't wear matching shirts for school photos! Although that wasn't as hard because they were usually at different schools which had picture day on a different day so I'd just tell them what they were wearing. But now my packing for any trip has advanced to "get get what you need and put it in a pile on the sofa" and if they forget stuff, oh well! ;) They do, however, know that if we ever go back to Disney that they're going to be wearing DIS shirts!

Hi Barb! Glad to see you around! Stop in between batches (or while they're in the oven!) and say hi! :thumbsup2

Off to work early today. I'm working extra hours today and Monday so I can get Christmas Eve off. Hopefully much won't be going on today though so I can maybe DIS. Can finally do it again. I couldn't the whole time we were on Daylight Savings :confused3 !! Yeah, I know that makes sense, but somehow my weird computer at work gets messed up with it and whenever I went into the DIS it just would keep reloading over and over and giving me an "updating daylight savings" message but never go anywhere. Now that we're off it, I guess I'm okay until March!

Anyways, I'm off to drive Eric to school first since he missed the bus (3 out of 4 of us overslept today and of course the one who didn't didn't bother waking anyone else up!). Not counting DH since he's up (and shoveled the 3" or so of snow) and gone long before any of us think about getting up! Matt drove Stephen, but since Eric's at the middle school, they're not allowed in early and I'd prefer he not stand out in the cold (since it's only 3 with a wind chill of -8 they wouldn't let them inside - has to be below -10) for a half hour!

Have a great Wednesday all!

Hello all .. Good Morning ...

Well we got out first "snow" of the year . It will be gone by the afternoon but it was very pretty last night with everyones Christmas Lights on.

Have another busy day ahead ..ONE yes ONE gift left to get  :woohoo: . Now if anyone wants to help wrap all this stuff just come on down and help.

I really hate to say this again but I am feeling  again . I can't seem to figure it out I either have pink eye again :headache: or a head cold that is draining everywhere eyes , nose etc you get the picture. I am thinking head cold because it feels that way and well I just can't get pink eye again . IF that is the case I am not going back to :teacher: work ever again ...:lmao: Yeah like that could happen.

Wanted to say HI . I hear someone was baking cookies ... I want some sugar ones if you guys are taking requests.

Need to go clean ,do :laundy: and wrap for :santa: . BBl

Hey, remember how I was complaining yesterday that it was foggy, but not raining? Yeah, it's raining now. 62 and rain. Are we really sure it's December?

:sad2:

You're welcome to my new snowblower - provided you take the snow with it!

I love the photo! And that's the crux of the problem, I do love to see family photos....

I am also amazed that your "guys" will wear the shirts. My family would not be so agreeable. You all look super in them!

And yes, I would love to take the snow with the snow blower. We STILL haven't gotten to use ours. The snow turned to ice and now is melting....

Thanks for the input! :)
Elyse
