Glorious sunshine already, and a clear blue sky, as overnight was clear, 64 seen out the door. No matter, still seeing 73 the high today. Perfect fall weather for the first day of October.

And what? Mid week already? Yay. As who reminds us of this day?




Yay! Wednesday, the day of the week where we say, wahoo, get over this hump of a day feeling Wednesday, then fabulous Friday feeling then a day away.

For me, yay, as hair salon visit dinner time tomorrow, and will be the week day routine ending day, as decided Friday to enjoy being lazy instead. Yay, lazy Friday with freshly salon visited hair the night before. Woot!

So, not only is it a Wonderful Wednesday today, it’s the first day start of the month, that ends with a spooky, Fabulous Friday. Woot! Nope, two needed for this month of Halloween fun, woot, woot!

And a woot, as celebrated Halloween at a mickey party and HHN at the end of August into September, and will again celebrate with a not so scary party the week of Halloween. With a fun Disney run the weekend before. Scoring little one, got us tickets for wine and dine run. Hence, there was a need for double fall fun trips this year. Yes, a woot for that.

Can't believe it is October already. This year has flown by.
Work today is slow, so I am killing time before lunch.

Ah, that beautiful Fall weather, where a steady 70’s highs for October should be coming as that new month arrives this week.

I am so looking forward to this. I want to be able to turn off the a/c and open the windows.

Same here. I am ready to turn it off but don't want to turn on the heat yet.

Little J’s 6th birthday party is Saturday. He loves trucks and cars. Particularly dump trucks etc. Found this cake for him and ordered it. He wanted strawberries in it. So had them put it in the cake.

Happy birthday to him. The cake is adorable.

Taco Tuesday it is. And all agreed for Chinese for dinner tonight.

We did steak last night. It was our 30th anniversary, so we went to the nicest restaurant in town. I discovered that my black pumps, which I haven't worn in years, no longer fit. They got thrown out as soon as we got back home.

And a woot, as celebrated Halloween at a mickey party and HHN at the end of August into September, and will again celebrate with a not so scary party the week of Halloween

I want to go to the Halloween party someday. Unfortunately it is not a good time for dh to go Since he has to be at school. But maybe fall break. Hmmm.......
Well, it probably won't happen until 2027. We already have other plans for next year.

Usually we order from chewy but they are back logged today.
cats don’t understand.

Did pick up a few items of junk food for us.
I let my husband do all the shopping he wants…

Still have the air on 24/7.
Hopefully it will be a mild winter.

We did more meals out the past few weeks.
No complaints for us.
Still have ac on day and night.
Most likely that will change later.

Nature’s AC for me today. 49 degrees said that thermometer outside our front door. But quick enough to office, which feels warmer, for some reason, as building heater will not be turned on until mid November. Rest of my office does feel cooler though. Not complaining, as rather be a bit warmer in my office, when it’s cooler outside.

Southern pub food for dinner last night, sounded perfect, Mac. Im lucky, my kids do most of our grocery shopping. Hope you got all that you needed, on your shopping trip yesterday.

Ah, thirsty Thursday is here. Thankfully, the last week routine day for me. Getting closer and closer to that day I say, no more week day routine in the city for me. Woot!

And so, tea in my cup, and almost ready for a refill soon. Early bird I am, as almost always, awake before that alarm goes off. I do listen to it for a few minutes though. It’s the local news channel, that always gives weather and traffic on the two’s. So, I get to hear other news for a few minutes before I hear that weather and traffic report. Then I’m off to the shower, and out the door before ya know it. And the quickest of the commutes, in that predawn arrival.

Ooh, gold seen on the horizon now. Mostly sunny day, again, though cooler, as 69 the high. But nature is kind to us. 80’s the high this weekend, with glorious sunshine days. Woot woot! Short weather weekend. Yay.

Good morning on this second day of that spooky month, and drink up today, thirsty Thursday it is. And give a salute to the fact that tomorrow is that most fabulous Friday.

Ooh hair salon alert this late afternoon says my phone. Will be pampered, and will maybe pick up dinner when I’m done. Good pizza place near that salon. Will have to ask the family if that’s okay for dinner. Now making the appointments a little later, as nice to relax at home for a few minutes, instead of that race to be on time, coming out of the city.

Yep, time for tea refill. Most Happy Thirsty Thursday to all the homies.

Happy Friday! It's going to be an exciting day of laundry for me. I purchased all new bath towels recently, so I will be washing all of the old ones and donating them to the humane society. I also have some new clothes that I bought for myself that need to be washed.

I am currently over on another thread complaining about not being able to purchase park tickets for 2026. My trip starts 3 months from tomorrow and I want to be able to price compare. I have a feeling that we will all end up with seasonal passes.

Nature’s AC for me today.

I think we are finally able to open windows.

Son and wife had to cancel their visit with us today due to the shutdown.
Hopefully we will see them when things all work out.

I have had a very non-productive morning. I didn't wake up until 10:30 and have done nothing since. I need to start laundry, but first - lunch!

Mom, you did what? Hehe, booked that holiday trip as I am a sucker for holiday decor. And, saw drop in AP rates during that week I was looking at, so yay, more use of that AP. Burning a whole, well yeah, but at least no tickets to buy. While we will stay at the mouse, we always have a rental car, so gotta use those Harry APs, and don’t mind parking in those massive garages to see the holiday fun at potter parks too.

Today, as a lazy Friday for me, and little one and I had a nice breakfast at our favorite deli, as we both like their cheap week day breakfast menu. Then, walked that huge mall, and picked up luggage little one had ordered, as then I can have her old one. Mine, is not waterproof, those metal ones are better at it. Hence, I’ll take her old, which is not even that old, metal one. Before our last trip, I had bought a bag that slides over your luggage handle. Perfect size as holds a lot, and has lots of zippers. Fits under seat or I usually carry a backpack, so put that bag in the overhead, and push the backpack under the seat. Little one wants to use it in her next trip, as she usually carries a roll bag with her backpack, that she tries to wrap the strap around her luggage handle, with mild success.

Little one is the traveler. She flies to the wedding, and home at dinner time, the day before our morning flight. Guess a quick take out and put in, as I’ll be packed the night before, as working the day before. Generally, know what I am taking already anyway.

Woot! 80 degree weekend, with glorious sunshine loaded. Shorts are ready, as was cooler feeling today, hence wore lightweight pants and a tee shirt. Funny, we thought stores have already turned on the heat, as even the mall felt warmer to us.

Light on, as getting darker as we get to that switch in going back an hour in time, where even darker as time goes on that standard time, when I go to week day routine in the dark, and home in the dusk time. But another month before we do that time change fun.

Hope all had a nice Friday. And have to say, I will be so happy to be lazy every day, not when I decide to take off a Friday, like today.

I think dh is a little envious of my solo trips. This weekend is fall break and he has booked himself a solo trip to a different theme park. B and I will find something to do while he is gone

That will be an enjoyable trip. I love it when the AP rates start dropping. I think dh is amused at how excited I get, but he's learned to trust the process.
Do you know if Universal will keep the Christmas decorations up in January? We will be there the first week. I'd really like to experience WDW again at Christmas time. Maybe for my birthday.

I am still trying to find a decent flight for our trip. The problem is having a tiny airport with all other airports within a 2.5 hour drive are also small airports. I am trying to find the perfect combination of departure/arrival times, layover times, and price. Some of the flights have layovers in Chicago or NY. I don't want to travel north before I go south. We might end up driving the 3.5 hours to Charlotte and staying overnight. We can get flights fir only 13k flight miles.

Up early this morning.

I succumbed to a post trip cold. Started with sore throat on Monday. It has progressed into sinuses and bronchial tubes. I have asthma so was expected.

It took 11 days post trip for me to get sick. I’am boosting immune system so hoping this will be short lived.

We had little J’s birthday party yesterday he had the best time. He is so sweet. He was happy to be surrounded by his family. It was nice to celebrate his birthday with our family.

He received lots of nice birthday gifts and he loved them all.

I made gnocchi, meatballs, tossed salad, garlic bread, pretzel bites and cheese (Judes loves pretzels, a fruit tray, We had birthday cake and cupcakes for dessert.

I had popcorn on the table for snacks.

Everyone enjoyed the food and there was plenty to send home with everyone.

It was wonderful to have all the family together.

Always a blessing to celebrate our sweet Jude.

Ah, that Monday feeling. Was up a half hour before the alarm went off. Felt like a long hot shower was the thing to do. And lots of dew on my car windows. Hate it, as sometimes hard to clear. But the warmer weather stays another day, even with 56 said that outside thermometer. But 80’s with lots of glorious sunshine by lunchtime, after this overcast morning. And ooh the moon will be a full one tonight. Looked huge last night, in that clearest sky.

Talk about clear sky, even a high airplane I could hear the noise from it as it zipped past the house yesterday afternoon.

And an aww, my sister has deer near her house. Yesterday, late afternoon, we saw a large rack male deer, with three females, two were moms, as one had an almost grown fawn, the other had twins, that also looked much more grown up. We had seen them in the Spring, when the fawns were so much smaller. But that whole deer family needs to bulk up, as saying a cold front will be arriving mid week this week, and will have temps like the end of October. Rain, too. Though saying not much rain.

But yeah, the start of that week day routine for another week closer to that every day relaxing time. That’s also a countdown I am doing. And a just as happy one, as vacation ones. Of which, two more vacations to come before the year ends. Woot!

Tea refill needed. Sigh. Certainly feels like a Monday, after that three day weekend. But no matter. Next Monday is a holiday. Woot! Three day weekend coming up. Hehe, may take off next Friday, then 3 day weekends in a row. Then boom, following one will be a fun run one. Woot! That October vacation countdown is getting lower and lower.

Monday has hit hard today. I went to cancel an appointment and got an error message. No problem. When this happens I can usually restart the software and it will be fine. No, not today. When I tried to restart the software I got a message stating there was not enough memory to run the program. That can't be right. I decided to reboot the computer. Tried to sign in but got a message that the password was incorrect. No, boss hasn't changed it. She tried to do a password recovery but they need to send confirmation to her email address - an address she no longer uses. We are now locked out of the computer due to excessive incorrect password attempts. I can't do anything right now.

Please excuse Janet’s absence. She’s been getting chased by scary monsters since arriving home from vacation & busy canning vegetables from her garden that has finally decided to produce.

Getting medical tests galore 6 month post op, will talk to surgeon Wednesday for words of wisdom. Friday, have a four hour test for another issue, then hope I’m done with this current round of them

Good to see all here are still vertical!

Just finished up chopping up veggies for gardenia and dumping in the salt water soak. Did a smaller batch vs the one last week to just fill up four large jars. Did refrigerator pickles the other day, should be ready to go in a day or two. So tempted to try them early.

Been busy putting up what I am calling a “curated” outdoor halloween display this year. Just too much else going on, will still knock their socks off.

Have managed to attend multiple football games to see GD cheer and DS coach. Was funny on Saturday, she had big regional XC meet in the early morning a few hours from here. Yep, another medal to add to the collection. Nice to see her training pay off


Then, the homecoming dance that evening. My teeth nearly fell out of my mouth when I saw the difference in appearance from a few hours earlier. Something about her growing up is more of a jolt to me than with my boys.

Unplanned until little one got those run tickets. Weekend event, but I said, hey, let’s just make it a week. And so, we did.

I forget, is she running the race or a just for fun trip?

I had hesitated buying the TSO tix for the pre Xmas concert we always attend as prices were crazy out of the gate. Caught a Ticketmaster sale last weekend @ 1/4 the original price lol.

Ironically, I can’t find pre-paid parking lot or garage in the city that’s not more than price of one tix

Of course now that I'm going to see someone all my symptoms have gone away.

We are still running the BR AC units at night as upstairs tends to hold the heat.

I wish we’d never drop below 60 degrees, dread winter.

Several days over last two weeks our temps were higher than Orlando. Crazy. Think cold front will be thru on Wednesday, still should be in mid to low 70’s, will take it and run as we’ve had snow many times on the ground for Halloween.

Aw. . Hope they aren’t working ‘for free’. Has to be difficult for so many people in that regard. Not to mention those who have gotten notices from their insurance companies as to loss of subsidies for their premiums. What a mess.

Ah, so nice to see your gd enjoying life, Janet. She’s a cutie and growing up fast. Thanks for sharing news and pictures of her.

Ooh, Taco Tuesday is here. Hope Charade’s office is better with its IT issues today.

Fast enough commute, even with the large line coming into the complex. Yeah, and will be an even longer one when I head home. Lots of us in the complex are early arrivals, like me. So much less traffic in that predawn hour. Even saw a school bus this morning. Probably the senior high kids one. But usually only see the city buses, as most schools don’t start until after 7 am.

Ah that slide in temps begin as a cold front arrives with rain starting in the midnight hours and continues thru Wednesday early morning. Guess I should bring the umbrella in the car, inside tonight. As may be a rainy commute into the city tomorrow. But then even with into low 60’s by the end of the week, glorious sunshine arrives all day Thursday and Friday. Woot!

Crazy time weather. Starting with warm and ending with cool, this week. Well, we are getting closer to that mid October, where, by Halloween, it could be much cooler. And an ack. Saying the low high temps at the end of this week, frost warning will most likely be given. Sigh. Maybe shorts will just stay in the luggage, as the first fun, may be warmer than home, but a crap shoot for our holiday one. We have been in December before for years, and most of the time, it’s short weather for us. But sometimes, we were glad we had our winter clothes, that we know to bring, and have the winter jackets and hats we are wearing when arriving at the home airport.

Ah. That tea cup needs a refill already. Have a long sleeve blouse on, but may put on my lightweight sweater open front like jacket. Almost feels too cool in the office.

So, if ever a day for a restaurant embracing the notation that it’s Taco Tuesday. Not to be confused with the other T starting day, where thirsty reminder day it is. And so, this Taco Tuesday, enjoy those deliciously filled pocket of hand held food. Taco Bell runs, good day to go there. Any taco place or made at home, today is a good day to do so.

But a hehe, unless older one wants to do errands near where our closest Taco Bell is, no tacos may be eaten by my family today. Little one is no fan of that fast food taco place. And kids are doing a run to that game and hunting store, about an hour and a half North of us. But there’s restaurants now built near it. And it includes the closest Sheetz to us, so I can see the kids having a Sheetz lunch. And probably won’t be hungry when I get home, even if I will be, as eat lunch early. One nice thing about getting in early, is a much longer morning than afternoon. So after lunch, the afternoon seems to fly by.

Woot! Brother’s birthday today. I’d call him now, but he’s not an early riser. Have to set a timer to call him later this morning. He’s my second oldest, and a year older than my only sister. Ack, my older siblings are all in their seventies now. But my siblings, always call the birthday sibling on their birthday. And so, I may be the first, though my sister is now an early riser, and my other brothers are generally early risers too.

Yay, it’s the Fall season, and the month we end with some spooky fun, with candy handing out. Woot! Hehe, time of year Christmas creep is already in the stores, online ones and brick and mortar ones.
