Something About Nothing............ #14

Congratulations to Team Ferrari and Lando. Early part of the race was exciting.
Watch Max get slapped for driving like Max was a nice bonus.

Not a Ferrari fan, especially since they are getting rid of Sainz who we rate highly and bringing in the most overrated driver in history. And I don`t like Lando Norris, I`d rather see Max win than him.

F1 is nothing now compared to what it used to be and we need more drivers with personalities not just folks replying with corporate, dull answers to questions and my goodness they all sound like little girls tattle telling on each other!!

My grumble for the day DJ ☺️

Sun is shining now and it is warm today!!! I`m sure we have more rain forecast later.

Did some shopping and enjoyed reading to some kids in the library, with it being half term schools are closed, there were around 10 of them which was a nice little group, I would do this again if they needed another volunteer.

Cuppa tea and some more internet for me, Tom is off doing his volunteering this afternoon so music on, laptop on and pass the day away, the rest of the week is busy so I`m going to enjoy an afternoon chilling with the internet!!

Has anyone heard from Janet today?
Concerned if she is still sick and not out of the woods yet.

I would call her but if she is sleeping, don’t want to wake her up.

You all know the phrase, never wake a sleeping baby….they can scream their heads off and it’s hell to pay for hours.

I put Janet in that grouping….

But joking aside, sending her Mummy Dust she is ok.

She was a little better yesterday mac, yes, hoping she is much better than she was.

Those things really whack you though and any new variant seems to hit worse than the previous ones.

Have to run out and pop a birthday card through a friend`s door, how could I have forgotten her birthday!!! Well I didn`t forget, I thought it was 28th of next month!! oops.

So much for me being organised lol....

Happy 97th birthday to her
Thanks for the birthday greetings. Her family party was really nice and the weather was not so cold:) Loved the memes:)
He is still weak from the respiratory illness,
I hope your husband feels better soon from that darn respiratory illness!
Hubby is overjoyed to be pain free. Surgery was a success. Now just need to get him well from this respiratory illness.
That is so great!. I remember how happy my husband was not to have back pain again.
bought some charms and made necklace, earrings and bracelet for two of our granddaughter
Those charms and bracelets are adorable and your granddaughters will love them.
Just got home from a costume party. DW went as a witch and I as frog she was trying to kiss into a prince
Lol, those costumes sound great, love it!
I`ll bring an apple crumble out of the freezer for us
I've been going to make apple crisp for days now, but I will do it soon before we leave:) I love apple crisp. It must be the same as the crumble.
Promised the ‘lil I’d hit up the haunt to see her work her craft again this year. Would never go back on that. Had her own room this year. Built her a boo hole door
That haunted room sounds like a hoot. She must be very inventive.
Covid and a secondary infection on top of it. Worse go-round for me yet, believe this is fourth time.
OMGosh, Janet! What an awful thing to get while on vacation, and the 4th time too!!!! I hope you are up and about soon. Take care.
And after such a lovely day, we have rain forecast for the middle of the night into the morning
It sounds like a nice day to get things done too. I love the rain because we have had a very dry hear which is not normal for us. Even the snowfall was under par.
Kyle came over around 4.30 and we enjoyed a lovely dinner and chatting the day away.
That sounds like a great way to spend the day with Kyle.
In between everything I have a hair appointment on Wednesday then the flu vaccine in the afternoon, I hope it doesn`t knock me for six as I have too much to do this week!!
Oh, Carole, it sounds like you will be a very busy person this week. I hope the flu vaccine doesn't make you ill. It never affects us when we get that shot, thank heavens. (hope I didn't jinx myself for saying that:)
Busy week ahead between volunteering and helping get the village Halloween party sorted for Thursday,
I was wondering what you do to help with the Halloween party? It sounds like a nice thing for a village to do.
It’s now 66 degrees for where I am in Georgia.
LOL, Mac, 66 degrees sounds heavenly to me. We are up to the high 50;s today and are going to work in the yard this afternoon. I have clothes hanging out in the fresh air to dry.

I know I haven't mentioned Charade or Pumpkin, but did not go back very far in the posts. I hope all is well with you guys and will catch up later.

Well, we have 4 more days before we leave for Universal!!! Yea! I am trying to get everything organized and am always in a rush before a trip, afraid I will forget to do something. Roger isn't coming with, so I have to get enough food in for him. My Mom will be looked after by my wonderful daughter, Robin. So, all seems to be in order. I will start packing tomorrow, or over packing! I always pack a lot of everything. I can't seem to cut down my packing, so I just go with the fact that Randy will have my huge purple suitcase to push:)

Will get back with everyone after we return.

ruth

Oh no, Keisha, sending lots of mummy dust well wishes out your way. Hope you feel better soon. Not a way to end a vacation, shorter than wanted.

Went to do a post office run at lunchtime, as I don’t get a long break, but the traffic I was in. What da heck? Monday, and I guess everyone had to be out at lunchtime today. Stopped at that coffee place, for a venti iced coffee, and was so glad I got there at just the right time, as was first, as the line grew long, so fast after I ordered. I usually mobile order, but they were not offering. I could see why. Took a good few minutes to have a worker come to the cash register, then no one was making coffee for more than a few minutes either. Little one was with me and said when that guy with the blue hair is the cashier, it’s going to be a wait. Well ya, I can see that, as was looking at my watch to see how long we had been waiting before we finally got our coffee. 15 minutes to be exact. Sigh. It’s one of those coffee shops that I generally think makes the better tasting iced coffee, compared to several I won’t get coffee from there anymore.

Older one opened this morning, and called me a few minutes ago. He’s in the mood for a Chinese dinner. I guess. We had pasta and salad for dinner last night. Was going to make chicken, but little one wanted it for lunch instead. And we had a chicken stir fry, as had to make it fast, given that longer than expected coffee stop, of which I drank so quickly, was wishing they had an even bigger cup. So, no cooking for me tonight, I think.

Most Marvelous Monday to all.

Yay, cheap rail tickets for December, and tickets to the Orchestra’s Christmas program. Woot! Looking forward to our just before Christmas very mini trip.

It’s now 66 degrees for where I am in Georgia.

I put the heat on as not used to this cold weather….

Seriously….not laughing 😳

I never laugh at folks being cold!! I hate it!!

I think apple crisp is oats and nuts, crumble is butter, flour and sugar. I don`t like nuts so wouldn`t enjoy crisp by the sound of it, but crumble is lovely as I don`t like crunchy toppings.

Well, from Tuesday afternoon the ladies all bake halloween themed goodies, make sure we have all bought goodies too and we can get the hall ready with Halloween decorations. Late Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning we set the tables, make sure all the games are set up for the kiddies and prizes are wrapped and organised.

On Thursday we just supervise the party as not all parents stay with their little darlings, hand out the treats and food on the tables, then clean up afterwards of course. It`s a lot of work but so much fun.

I got both booster two years ago, but didn`t bother last year, however fingers crossed I`m ok as I really am too busy to be poorly!! I also have several other things I have to do too....not enough hours in the day at times, thank goodness I don`t have to work!!!

Heck on a deck your trip is just about here!!! Aww, your son will be happy to manage your suitcase, better to overpack and not need it all than the other way round about!!! And your mum will be in good hands with Robin, they`ll have fun together!!

Nothing like a home cooked traditional winter warming dish on a cool autumnal evening!!!

Just chatted to one of my brothers for over an hour, time runs away when we chat, but good to catch up with him, won`t see him till Christmas now.

Time for a cuppa and put the telly on and see what`s worth watching.

Oh watched a movie on Netflix that was good, true story about the girl who went on the Dating Game and didn`t go on the date and turns out he was a serial killer. Might flick through Netfilx and Disney+ and see what`s on.

Quick hello. Nothing exciting going on here. Had a dental visit today to get fitted for a night guard. Apparently I grind my teeth in my sleep.
The wedding on Saturday was nice, but too long. We left after 4 hours. Aside from dh I knew exactly 2 other people there. Kind of an introvert’s nightmare.

I was able to on my PC, not sure exactly how. I spent a fair amount of time messing with it.
I gave up. It’s now telling me to complete my account set up. I may try talking to guest services when I get to the park next month.

Hubby’s back and leg pain are gone. Surgery was a success. Just need to get him over this respiratory illness.
Great news on the back and leg. Glad to hear he is progressing so well. Continued prayers that he get past the respiratory illness soon.

I have no idea who Charles Stanley is?? Detective??
Baptist minister.

Had the windows open during the night as it is so mild and today although a little chilly, it is a gorgeous morning, sun is splitting the trees for sure. It will rain tonight though.
Our weather still hasn’t settled down. I would love to have the windows open at night but it’s either too warm or too cool.

Wound up leaving 2nd HHN before 10 pm. couldn’t break fever. Called family dr, told to immediately come home, he didn’t want me down there & possibly hospitalized. mr was stunned I immediately called airline to come home ASAP. Double masked, under a blanket, don’t remember much of trip home. All i did was sleep for days.
What a crazy ordeal. So sorry you got so sick especially while on vacation. Glad you are better now.

It’s now 66 degrees for where I am in Georgia.
That’s open the windows weather for me.

Well, we have 4 more days before we leave for Universal!!!
We are right behind you. Too bad our trips won’t cross.

Speaking of trips, B finally got approval for the time off.

It's Monday...enough said :surfweb:

Back to work today. Went to the city this weekend to help dd finish packing up the last of their things and wipe down a few surfaces. The movers are coming in today - as well as the cleaners to do final clean. We rented a cube truck to bring the items that they had in their garage. It's currently sitting in our driveway - waiting for the kids to get the keys to their place tomorrow.

Weather is icky. The snow we got didn't stick. Woke up to a VERY chilly morning, with rain falling. The rest of the week looks to be somewhat decent - with none of the white stuff falling. It will be another brown Halloween for the kiddos. Which doesn't happen often.

Still training someone from upstairs to help out down here incase I'm sick and until they get a new part-time person. But she knows most of the role - it's just the RT side of things - so it's not much new to her.

Yeehaw! Scored 2 tickets each for DW and I.
:jumping1:
Nothing like a late sleep every single day I feel like it, the joys of being a lady of leisure.
I wanted to be that lady this morning ::yes:: I could have roller over and went back to sleep.
I bought some charms and made necklace, earrings and bracelet for two of our granddaughters who like Harry Potter. These are their respective houses.
Those are great!
Covid and a secondary infection on top of it. Worse go-round for me yet, believe this is fourth time. Yes, I do have more vaxx than the average bear for it and everything else due to health conditions.
Sending you lots of healing mummy dust. I hope you recover quickly!!!!

Seriously….not laughing 😳
I hate the cold. Within a day and a half - my ankles and knees were back to being in pain again from our cool/cold weather. I feel 200% better in warm/hot weather.
Well, we have 4 more days before we leave for Universal!!!

That's awesome. I hate when employers wait until the last minute to approve time off from work.

Glad you had a nice time at the wedding. I`m the opposite of you, I love meeting new people, I do love being in the company of folks I know, but yep, I`m happy to be in new company, but I get that it`s not everyone`s idea of fun.

Ah, that`ll be why I`ve never heard of the guy. Glad your daughter got the time off for your trip.

Have a great day everyone!

Hope their move goes well today, sounds like it`s all in place!!

Oh it is bliss not having to be anywhere especially when it`s getting colder, I do enjoy that turning over and going back to sleep when it`s miserable outside.

Yep, the heat makes us all feel so much better!!

I think it`s going to be another lovely day, so we might pop out a walk this morning then I have some baking to do for the Halloween party. I don`t volunteer to do the spooky and quite fancy baked items, mine never turn out very good. I did try to do a blood faced minion fairy cake once, nope, it was unrecognisable! So I stick to simpler stuff, that always works out for me. I leave the elaborate goodies to those ladies that do have a talent for that.

And got a txt last night from the girl I dropped a birthday card off for yesterday asking why her card was a month early.....seems I was right and her birthday is the 28th of next month!!! My other friend got it wrong and convinced me she was right!!! Being honest, she`s not a close, close friend so I was easily convinced!

Pork fillet with a plum, garlic and chilli sauce tonight, will do lo mein style noodles and stir fried bak choi and beansprouts, soak up that lovely sauce with the sides. Lunch is home made chicken noodle soup, simmered the stock yesterday so look forward to that today with some bread.

Can`t quite believe how quickly October has passed and it`ll be November on Friday!! That was one fast month. Next two nights we watch some Halloween movies, but wish they`d leave any remakes along now, it`s enough!!

Happy Tuesday 🙂

Nice pumpkins! You have to click on the picture to see it properly.....doh!!

So did you get booked?

Glad you`re doing better.

Went out a walk down the beach this morning, it was still quite warm and sunny, came home and did some baking for Thursday nipped out to pick up some candy for their little pumpkin baskets, everybody buys a certain amount so there`s plenty to go round everyone as well as drinks and party food.

Now popping laundry in the dryer, it probably could have gone out, but the lines are down for winter now, I never expected it to be so mild. But it`s nice sitting looking out as the sun is still shining today.

My favourite tree looking as though it`s about to lose the last of it`s leaves soon.

Time for a cuppa, then, not sure.......😊

So did you get booked?
Yes, then I fell asleep for 3 hours and didn’t wake up until 10:30 am. Feel as tho I’ve a raging hang over. I could never do shift work, too much a creature of habit.
Missed seeing you and are you all in one piece now?
Well, let me do a quick inventory and I’ll get back on it :)

I’m in a tshirt & pair of shorts & birks. Going to head out to Ross for senior day (the glamorous life), get a bit of exercise and maybe an xmas gift or two.

Problem is, everytime I order one & arrives, the mr starts sniffing around & I can’t resist handing over whatever goodie for him. I need to work on my resolve.

Enjoy the day!

Ooh DH went to bed at 7pm. Guess who is going to be awake by 4 am, I’m guessing. Whatever. I am sometimes good at going back to sleep after a 4 am discussion.

Took off tomorrow, lazy Wednesday for me, for a change. Though I am a creature of habit, and most likely will be up by 4 am anyway, as alarm goes off at 4:30, but did turn it off. Mid week break? Why not. End of October this week. Older one turns 27 next week. Yep, Election Day baby that year.

Good night. 💤

Glad you got it sorted though, something else to look forward to.

You`re back on your feet in remarkable time and all without complaining, getting walking again was excellent and you`ll feel better for it in the coming weeks. And glad you did well with shopping, always good to start getting through those lists, you reminded me I haven`t picked up wrapping paper yet either, but I still have some leftover from last year so that`ll do as a start!

Gotta laugh that folks that cover all bases with their comments :rotfl:

Had a fabulous sleep last night, windows open as it still is so mild, I`m sure we`ll pay for this in the coming weeks, Scotland has already had snow way up in the mountains, but hope it stays there for a while!!

Bust day today but mostly fun, hair salon this morning where I think I might get some caramel through to make it less blonde for the winter, she is big into changing it up every visit which I like unlike my previous stylist and I do love this shorter style. Will get some chopped off today again to keep it on the shoulders with some layers so I still have that swishy hair. I bought a load of Olaplex shampoo in Orlando so have only been using that since we got home so my hair does feel fabulous, amazing shampoo, you only need the tiniest of blobs on your hand as it lathers really well, same with conditioner, a little goes a long way!!!

Then over to village hall to help with the set up for tomorrow, will grab something from one of the cafe`s for a quick lunch then over to doc`s for the double jab!! Two years ago when I last had the double jab I was fine, so hoping for a redo this time. Made a chicken curry last night for tonight in case I don`t feel 100% after them so at least dinner is sorted.

I must do some goodies and treats for Kyle`s office next week too, been busy baking for everyone else. They are just the nicest of people, every one of them.

But, tea first then breakfast of croissants, brie with grapes and pineapple slices later just before I head off. Tom is off doing his volunteering as I`m gone most of the day too, I thought he might have a day watching sci fi stuff!! Puts me to shame!!

Have a lovely Wednesday :-)

Woke up at 4:30 and have not been able to get back to sleep. >:(
I can’t seem to shut my brain off.
Last night dh and I were discussing transportation options for our Disney trip in March. Local flights are outrageously priced. Flights from my airport start at $753 or 75K flight miles. And that’s an economy flight. Right now it’s looking like we may have to fly out of DC (Reagan) just to get a reasonable rate. It’s a long drive, so we will want to drive up the day before and stay at a hotel overnight and do the same on the way back. Of course the closer you stay to DC the more expensive the hotels get plus the price of parking for a week. Then it hit me - we could rent a car and turn it in at the airport before we leave and then rent again when we return. That way we could stay at a less expensive hotel a little farther from the airport and not have to worry about parking fees. I’m still hoping that the rates will drop and we can fly locally though.

I've been up since 4 am waiting for candlelight processional dining pkg to load for Dec.
I hope you were able to get the event you wanted. I would love to see the candlelight processional, but don’t know when we will get back to Disney in December again.

My favourite tree looking as though it`s about to lose the last of it`s leaves soon.
Still looks pretty. I hate that the trees will be bare soon. I wish the color lasted a little longer.

Older one turns 27 next week. Yep, Election Day baby that year.
Happy early birthday to him. B was due close to election day but didn’t arrive until several days later.

Almost time for me to get up and start the day. Maybe I can sneak in a nap at lunch.
