Somethin Special

Hi Everyone!

My DW, DD (age 1) and I are returning for our 7th trip in 7 yrs, our 1st since DD was born. I would like to do something special for DW and DD but especially for DW as she has been amazing over the past year. We are staying at the Poly this year because of its proximity to MK. I would like to know if anyone knows something that I can plan for DW that would be special. I know people have different ideas and definitions of special and I would appreciate ALL suggestions....

Some general ideas I have are something to be done at one of our sitdown meals, something at the hotel, or even something by a character in a park or at the hotel.

A couple of special things to me and my DH are restaurants:
California Grill
Jiko
We want to try Sanaa on this upcoming trip
We are doing our first Food & Wine Festival this time too

You could get reservations at Cali Grill around the time of the Magic Kingdom Fireworks - thats always a big hit with adults and children as well.

Staying at the Poly - if you haven't already and can afford it - you should get a Room with a Magic Kingdom View! I hear that is great!!
How cool is that to sit in your room -or on your balcony at night and see the lights and watch the fireworks

Since your staying at the Polly I have some ideas for you!!
For starters you need to eat at Ohana for Dinner at least one night! The food is great plus you will love it!

On a romantic level you need to plan one night where you and your wife lay on the beach and watch wishes. We usually go a little while before claim a lounge chair and get pina coladas!!!! It is romantic/relaxing/fun!! Its right by the volcano pool and Wishes usually start around 10. It was so much fun well at least to me!

First of all, welcome to the DIS!

I can't add to the great suggestions that have already been made, except to say that the Poly is my dream resort and I would love to stay there.

And last, but certainly not least, I think what you are doing for your DW is so touching. If someone wanted to do something special for me just to show that I was appreciated I think it would just melt my heart. I think on that basis, whatever you decide, it's going to be a winner.
