Think of the ECBs like money that can only be spent at CVS. You can use them on anything you buy. Just keep an eye on the expiration dates and make sure that you either spend them on something you need or "roll" them by purchasing items that are advertised as "free after ECB" with them. By rolling your ECBs, you are basically spending an existing ECB to obtain a product and a new ECB with a later expiration date.

thanks.
can i only use them on something that is on special that week and marked as ECB? ANd do i earn them on all purchases?

You can use your ECBs on anything except "alcohol, gift cards, lottery, money orders, prescriptions, postage stamps, pre-paid cards, tobacco products or items reimbursed by a governmental program." That's true whether the item is on sale or not.

You earn 2% back in ECBs every quarter, based on your spending but you can also earn ECBs on items that are marked in the weekly circular.

You can use ECB's on anything. You earn them by buying ECB's specials and you do also earn some based on how much you spend at CVS, but I'm not sure what the percentage is, it never seems to be that much. Be sure to sign up for the beauty club, you get $5 in ECB for every $50 you spend on beauty items, which includes a lot of things. You can also get a green bag tag and for every 4 times you go to CVS you'll get $1 in ECB's. Sign up for their emails, they often send coupons out. And of course always scan your card at the machine when you get there because you get coupons that way too.

When you first start out it's helpful to use a site like livingrichwithcoupons to do the match-ups for you. But you can do really well at CVS using the ECB system and coupons.

The green bag tag rewards you for using reusable bags (or no bag at all). Every 4th time you purchase something with it you get $1 ecb. I think they cost .99 cents but definitely pays for itself. You can find them buy the register.

If any of you are wanting to start using ECB, this weekend is HOT! I started today with only $5ecb, spent about $6 cash, got almost all of the hot ECB items and now have almost $40 in ECB!

LOL! That explains why every time I shop at CVS the clerk always asks if I want a bag. Since I usually have several items (more than what I could carry in my hands) I thought he was just being lazy and didn't want to bag!

Thanks for the info. I have 4 green bags (free at school health fair). Will keep those in the car from now on. I ended up with $70 in ECB, but spent a lot more than $6. :lmao:

You only want to buy one tag, though, as your card is only going to credit one scan per day. I've had my tag a long time, but I've *made* more than $40 on it.
