Someone else seeking advice

Hey all!

I'm in the process of (re)planning my first trip to Disney. I had a trip set for this December but had to push it off to April for various reasons.

I had a two bedroom suite booked in the Contemporary, but at the time we were planning on seven people (five adults and two kids [ages 11 and 14]). Now we're adding an eighth person (another adult) and I'm kind of in a pickle, so I figured I would turn to the experts on these boards to see if there were any suggestions.

I was looking at the Contemporary for the convenience of accessing the MK, as well as being on the monorail loop, and the view from the two bedroom suite sounded pretty good. But now, with the eighth person, I'm afraid that even the suite will be crowded. And now I'm thinking we could probably go to a different hotel too. Would it be better for us to get multiple rooms? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Have you considered renting points for a 2BR villa at BLT or VGF? That might be a good option for you if you want to be on the monorail and close to MK.

I guess it would depend on how the adults and children are all related, or not. A 2-bdrm suite could work fine if the bed configuration is okay. The Contemporary is a great hotel.

You mention that you liked the idea of being on the monorail, but realize that the monorail is really only convenient to Magic Kingdom. In order to get to Epcot, you have to change trains at the TTC. It has taken us 45 minutes each way on the few occasions we've done it. We like to start at Epcot on an EMH morning and then get the last seating at Chef Mickey's Breakfast.

Some other things to consider are:

How much time do you plan to spend in the park versus the room? What is your touring style?
How many days will you be there?
How important is the pool?
How introverted are the people you are traveling with? Will that many people in one suite freak anybody out?

Just a crazy thought, but I believe the Treehouse Villas sleep 8 and they are so unique! They are part of Saratoga Springs Resort.

A 2br at Old Key West would 2 beds in one bedroom, a king in another plus the sofabed and sleeping chair. It's a great resort and has the best bus service of any resort we've stayed in. A washer dryer, full kitchen and plenty of communal living space. If you want more space, you can try for a 3br grand villa but those are harder to come by.

Like a pp suggested, a treehouse has 3 bedrooms but transportation there is a little rougher.

Since you have a suite reserved, I'm assuming you don't need a budget friendly option lol. A villa is absolutely a lower cost than a suite.

I would probably go with three rooms at the Poly in CL (if it works in the budget) or three DVC studios. Hopefully most of the construction should be over by then. Either way I would request adjacent/connecting rooms. The Poly is convenient to both the MK and to Epcot (via walking path to TTC).

Of course, you could also go with 3 rooms in the CR CL. If all are the same view then the rooms can't be too far apart.
