I figured out that without factoring in dog boarding, that I could stay for a quick 3 night trip in September in a Savannah view room at AKL with dining, 3 day hoppers, and round-trip airfare on AirTran for less than $1900 for the two of us. Or, we could stay at POFQ for less than $1500. Or, we could stay in a preferred room at ASMu for less than $1300.

 :crazy2:  :upsidedow :scared1:

Why, oh why, do I do this to myself? Maggie

The dining plan cost 37.99 a day. $600 saving over 3 days is a lot.

Oh No! It gets worse! I just realized there is a MNSSHP on that Friday night!!! :hmghost: So, I could trade out the hoppers for just base tickets and that would be a straight up cover for the cost of the MNSSHP tickets.

I worked up a potential itinerary, so with a quick look at that, it makes no sense for us to stay anywhere other than ASMu....because we won't be spending time in the room, but we would be out having LOTS of fun.

Can anyone loan me $1300? :joker: I joke, I kid....sort of....

Any resort on WDW property is a winner :wizard:

Stay at ASMu and bring back something special for each of you that you would ordinarily not splurge on.

You have come to the wrong place if you truly want someone to stop you. Most of us here would offer to come along before telling you not to go! :rotfl:

What is the point of this? Do what you want.

Point, there has to be a point? hmm...

Well, I guess there is a point. Ever had a conversation with your honey where they say, we should do XYZ, but XYZ is really not in the cards, but it's nice to dream about doing XYZ. Well, XYZ was a trip to WDW taking advantage of the current room only discount code, flying down using the deal on airfare through AirTran, using ME for our other travel needs, and so on. So, I ran with it. I planned out three different budgets & an itinerary. I called my honey and said, "If you are serious about going to WDW, here is what we could do." My honey then says, "Ok, let's book it." :faint:

:tinker: pixiedust: :jumping1:

So, it looks like we are quite possibly going to WDW in September. Luckily, no one stopped me quickly enough! :grouphug: Thanks guys! Maggie

Maybe it is just me, but all those prices seem like a lot for a 3 day trip. Before we had DVC, the two of us spent about $2,000 for a week long trip including food, hoppers, towncar, airfare and accomodations. I would say the only thing we spent above that would be any souvenirs or special tours or things like that. I think it sounds like a lot of money for a 3 day trip for two people.

lol, go for it! we booked August for 6 nights at CBR for $1200 with 6 day hoppers and free dining! not bad!

GO FOR IT MICKEYSAVER. And since you are fine with the less expensive room ... I say go for that. (Now I am more an AKL kind of person ... well as long as AKL stands for POLYNESIAN!!!)

I don't DARE say what I am paying for 3 nights in the POLY, flight, concierge ... etc.... HEY, I save all year long ... pack my lunch ... don't eat out alot ... work OT when required ... After 20 years of vacationing only where my family lived, not going anywhere very exciting ... I said what am I doing with my life -- have more fun!!!

SO THAT IS WHY I SAY GO GO GO GO - DON'T STOP!!! :cheer2:

We are actually planning to dump the dining plan. With such a short trip, there is no reason to do more than one TS meal during this trip. I can find good CS grub, so that we can keep moving! During late September, the biggest expense is always fluids to keep hydrated.

Gabby is working on the airfare, she travels all the time, so we think that we can use some of her reward points for a free ticket, or maybe upgrade to business class for a little more comfort.

We plan to do MNSSHP, so we will trade down to base tickets, but still have more than enough park time. I am looking for a good deal on 3 day base tickets. (Anyone with any recent input?)

We are booking a preferred room at ASSp or ASMu. I would rather spend that extra $40 and save a few steps. Now, if I can just get a king room!

I don't think the budget is horribly out of line. I am just excited that we are most likely going to be able to go this year. I will know more tomorrow. Gabby is in the air right now. She is about halfway through her flight home from her week in Idaho Falls. Maggie
