I was going through my reservations tonight for our Dec. 18 - 21 stay at the Poly. I have two conflicting reservations I need to deal with and I'm hoping for some thoughts on which way to go.

On the first night we have supper at either Kona or La Hacienda.
On the second, either O'hana or The Wave.
The last night we have CRT.

I was leaning to eating at La Hacienda, but I can't get into Kona on the second night and it really appeals to me. If I stick with La Hacienda I won't get to experience Kona (for supper) at all, and we are staying at the Poly.

Also, I snagged the Ohana reservation a long time ago, but I have had second thoughts as I have heard a few negative reviews about the food. I think the entertainment might be interesting since our kids are 2 and 5, plus I think it might be good to eat at a Polynesian themed restaurant given where we are staying?

Which of these would you give up? I already tried the option of moving Kona to the second night and replace Ohana with it, thereby keeping my Hacienda and removing the Wave, but Kona was booked.

Thanks!

After looking at the menus my advice is to go with what appeals to you and to your family. Do not let reviews influence your decision. There are good and bad reviews for EVERY restaurant. Peoples tastes differ.
That said, I think 'OHana would be fun for your children
Have a Good trip

We love Ohana!! I know it's not to everyones taste and there has been quite a few bad reviews, but it's constantly difficult to get a reservation there so it can't be that bad :lmao:
If the food appeals to you and you like the idea of the entertainment, go for it.
Saying that we have had a below average experience at Ohana with our server, but we still enjoyed our meal there! :)

My thoughts on La Hacienda to help you decide. Although I enjoyed the food we ordered, and the server was OUTSTANDING, I would only go back if I could get a late seating for Illuminations. The menu choices were very limited.

I love Disney dining, and when there, that's all I do (dining plan all the way).

That said, I would go with Hacienda over Kona (mainly for the variety in dining), and definitely Ohana over the Wave. I've been to Ohana twice and not had a bad experience, the Wave on the other hand is nothing to write home about.

Thank you everyone.

I think I will go with Hacienda and keep Ohana.

I suppose we could always try to squeeze a lunch at Kona in during our stay if I'm desperate to try it!

Your help, as always, is much appreciated.

I'd say take reviews with a grain of salt.....everyone has a different experience.
Certain restuarants have received really horrible reviews, and we have loved them! I really don't think there is one disney rest. that has a perfect record. :lmao:
