Just returned on Sept 3rd and here are some quick thoughts on our TS experiences:

Sanaa
Ate here on the night before our package started so paying OOP. This was our longest wait for our ADR, about 15 minutes, which was fine as we got quite a view of the animals. The food was excellent (especially the Mango-Berry Tapioca pudding) and the service was the best of our trip. We had a very friendly server who made the meal special. It was our first trip to Sanaa and we will definitely return. Of course it didn't hurt that we had a seat right by the window.

Tutto Italia
On the Dining Plan now, and am I ever glad because Tutto is pretty expensive. Still, we love the food here. The Lasagna I had was almost as good as the Lasagna my wife makes. We all enjoyed our meals and will definitely return. We were seated immediately and the service was friendly and efficient.

Cape May Cafe
This can be a hit and miss for us. Sometimes we love it, sometimes it is just okay. This year was somewhere in between. The food was good but not spectacular. We waited 5-10 minutes for our ADR which is fine but our server was a bit slow in refilling drinks and clearing plates. However, she was very friendly and seemed to have a lot of tables so we could live with the service.

'Ohana
'Ohana is a regular for us and it didn't disappoint. We love the salad and appetizers, the steak and shrimp were excellent and the bread pudding was as good as ever, although I must admit that it is no longer my favourite dessert at WDW. We were seated promptly and our service was excellent.

Chefs de France
Was pouring rain that night so we appreciated getting seated as soon as we arrived even though it was 15 minutes before our ADR. We got a nice corner table in the small room at the north end of the restuarant so it would have been nice and quiet if it wasn't for the baby that screamed for the next hour and 45 minutes. Yes, that's right, 1:45, our service was pretty slow. We started thinking our server had forgot about us in the corner when we waited 20 minutes for our drink order. However, the food was excellent, so I guess I will put up with the slow service. At least it was friendly service.

Captain's Grille
This was our first time here and I can say it made the service at Chefs de France look fast. We were seated right when we arrived and our server arrived immediately to say she would be with us in a minute.... try 20. We all had the Prix Fixe meal and our food was quite good but the service continued to be slow. My son asked for drink refill and then timed an 8 minute wait. Not sure if we will return. We enjoyed our meal but I don't think the experience was enough to make us return.

Raglan Road
Seated immediately again (we were very lucky this trip) and began the difficult process of deciding what to eat. Whatever anyone says about the dumbing down of menus at WDW, RR doesn't fall into this category. Over 20 entrees on the menu and quite a few that look appealing. Service was fast and friendly and the meal was excellent. Raglan Road is definitely a recommended restaurant for DTD.

Boma
Boma has always been our favourite buffet at WDW and it still beats them all in our opinion. Lots of interesting food to sample. My only disappointment this time was the Bobotie. My wife found a great recipie for this and started making it last year. After eating her Bobotie I found Boma's way too dry. Still, a fabulous meal. My wife wants to eat there twice next year because she always fills up before she gets to try everything she wants.

Kona Cafe
This year the family voted unanimously to make this our final meal. In our opinion it is saving the best for last. After a delicious Teriyaki steak with mash potatoes (a substitution) and my favourite Kona Kone I have to say it was still my favourite. My wife and older son both had Tuna which they really enjoyed and my younger son had the prix fixe meal swapping desserts with his brother. Top it off with two loaves of their amazing bread and we left completely stuffed but satisfied. The only downside was service that was a bit slow but we enjoyed our meal so much that we couldn't complain.

Thanks for reviews. Raglan is my favorite and must do every trip. Glad you posted about Kona we have tried in the past but had one TS left and I think you sealed the deal with us going to Kona!

Thanks for your reviews

Sounds like you had some really good meals :thumbsup2

Can you tell me what you had to eat at Sanaa, Tutto and Capt Grill?

Can you tell me what you had to eat at Sanaa, Tutto and Capt Grill?

Sanaa:
My wife and I both had the something from the "Slow Cooked" section. I had the Beef Short Ribs and the Spicy Durban Shrimp. My wife had the Shrimp with Green Curry Sauce and the Coconut Curry Lamb. My two sons had something from the "Tandoor Ovens". One had the Tandoori Lamb, the other the Tandoori Shrimp. As for rice we all agreed the Basmati Rice was best with the first two entrees as they came with lots of sauce and the plain rice served them better. For the Tandoori items the Five-grain pilaf had more flavour. Of the four entrees I felt the Tandoori Lamb with the excellent Apple-Raisin Chutney was the best.

For dessert my older son and I had the fabulous Mango-Berry Tapioca pudding which was one of my favourite desserts of the trip. My younger son had the Dessert Trio and really loved the Chai Cream. My wife was too full for dessert and since we were OOP for this meal skipped dessert.

Tutto Italia:

I had Lasagna, DS18 had Canneloni, DS16 had Spaghetti and meatballs while my wife had Rissotto. All were excellent. As I mentioned the Lasagna was probably the best I have had at a restaurant and it is something I order quite frequently.

For dessert, DS18 had the Gianduja-Chocolate Torta which I think was the best of the desserts. My wife always goes for something light and had Gelati and Sorbetti. DS16 and I had a sampler I think which was okay but I regretted not getting the Gianduja.

Captain's Grille:

We all had the "Captain's Grille Experience". Three of us had clam chowder as an appetizer which was excellent while DS16 had a Crab Cake which he really enjoyed as well.

For entrees, DS18 and my wife had Crab Cakes, I had the Pork Chop and DS16 had the Market fish. The Crab Cakes were also excellent as an entree as was the Market fish (can't remember what it was). My Pork Chop was just okay. I would have preferred the NY Strip but was turned off by the Cheddar-bacon Mashed potatoes. I didn't think to ask for a substitution.

Desserts were 3 pretty good Key Lime Tarts and House-made Gelato that my wife didn't think really qualified as Gelato.

Thanks B-Ride, the reviews are very helpful!

Thanks for the reviews. You hit 2 of our favorites-Kona and RR. Okay, maybe 3, Tutto. And yes, TI is expensive if you aren't on the DDP. Just price out the kid's meal (ala carte) and you'll see how much. We've eaten there twice and enjoyed it both times.:goodvibes We hit Kona twice each trip (when we are on std DDP, that is.)

Raglan Road-It's not Bleedin' Chowder is TDF! As is the Bread Pudding.:thumbsup2

What makes the Kona cone special? Do you have to eat in the restaurant to get one?:confused3 We're an ice cream loving family and it sounds interesting.
