some ?s regarding tickets

Was wondering how a 10 day ticket would work if you have a 12 day vacation planned-
#1-We may want to skip two days and not do the parks. When activating it the first time, would you have to use that ticket then for the next 9 days in order not to lose any days or do you have a certain time span until it expires? #2-wondering what to do if we did want to do the parks all 12 days but notice that the tickets only get sold up to 10 days. How would I find out how much a 12 hopper pass would cost. Thanks for any help.

You have 14 days from the ticket's first use before it expires. So you can take a day off any time you like.

As the PP said, you have 14 days to use the tickets. We usually go for 14 days. We use the WP&M option to fill in the other 4 days with trips to the water parks and/or DisneyQuest.

Another family here that usually gets the 10-day tickets. We stay 12-15 days and always have a couple of non-park days to relax, go to the pool, try other recreational activities at Disney.

Yes, as PP said you could upgrade to an AP. I suppose you could buy additional two day tickets, but I think upgrading to an AP would be cheaper.

I would get the WPF&M option. That is what I do even for shorter trips. Last year I purchased 6 day tickets but we were there 7 full days. (we don't try to do parks on our arrival or departing days.) On our "off" day we went to a water park and Disney Quest.This year we are getting the 4 day military salute tickets and we will be there 5 days with a water park day.

I say just bite the bullet and get an AP. Then my suggestion would be to plan your next trip around 50 weeks from this one. That way you can get your money's worth out of it. Good luck with whatever you decide to do!!1

So, what you're saying is, if I have 8 day park passes and don't use them the first day we're there (it'd only be a half day anyways due to traveling), that day would not count towards the 8 days.

Now say on say 4 we take a no park day (who would do this?!), that day isn't wasted and it kind of rolls over...as long as all days on the passes are used within 14 days?

Your 8 "days" starts the first time you use the ticket. Say you check in on Saturday and just hang out at the resort. Sunday you hit the Magic Kingdom. This is your first park day. You have 14 calender days in which to use your tickets, so the second Saturday is the LAST day you can use them.

You can skip days in-between. The park days do not have to be consecutive. We take days off from the main parks and hit the water parks and DTD.

10 days is the most you can buy on one ticket (at least here in the U.S.) To get 12 days, you'd have to purchase some combination of two tickets.

10 + 2
6 + 6
etc.

Since Disney tickets are heavily front-loaded - that is the first 3 days are almost full price ($85? for sake of argument) but days after that are only $8 each you'd have to do the math to see if it makes any sense to buy 10+2 over 6+6. For all I know, it could work out the same.

When you book a package, you choose how many days you want. As one PP said, they don't do parks on their arrival day or departure day, so that saves them two days on their ticket. Just because you book a 12 day (or even 20 day) trip doesn't mean your park admission is the same number of days.

You can't get a 12 day ticket. Your only options are a 10 day hopper ($346), a 10 day hopper with WP&M ($401), A ten day hopper and a 2 day hopper ($569), or an AP ($552).

One thing to keep in mind is that you can get some pretty good room discounts with an AP.

I went online and put in a 12 day reservation package request. A 10 day ticket was offered with no option to increase days.

In the past, Disney offered a "length of stay" ticket, so your 12 day ticket would have come with a package. They don't do that any more, and as previous posters have said, tickets in the US now have a 10 day maximum. UK travelers can buy 14 and 21 day tickets, but US travelers cannot. They are not sold at Disney's gates.
