On our first trip DS1 (who is now 8) did ride BTM once, but got scared and we didn't do it again. And he was too scared to do Phantom Manor, so we left using emergency exit. And we never did Crush coaster. I'd like to do those rides, but I'm wondering how much "thrill" they are. Are 5 year olds allowed on those rides?

BTM isn't that bad once you get on it! Its just a couple of hills really! And there's no upside down loops.
PM is fine too, it doesn't move fast but might be a bit creepy.
Crush feels fast and very spinny so could cause motion sickness.
i know BTM is 1.2meter height minimum but cant remember what crush is - that info is on park maps and the DLP website though :)

I got DS1 on BTM, but he got so scared :eek:I got some problems after that, he even didn't want to ride anything :rolleyes1 And I loved BTM. DS2 is 116cm, so I guess we won't be able to ride it.

How scary is Phantom manor?

BTM is 1.02, and crush is 1.07. So fine (heightwise) for your ds2.

My dd1 loved BTM when she was 4, she is 6 now but Im still not sure I would put her on Crush!

Thanks for clearing up the height restriction. Knew there was a 2 in there!! ;-)
PM is manageable. The end part is more cartoon ghosts then spooky ghosts. The stretching room is probably the bit that's most liable to scare but there's only only one way to find out!xx

I knew 1.02 was what you meant!

DD was literally JUST 1.02m this past visit and she had just turned 4 (second day at Disney!). I managed to get her on both BTM and Tower of Terror!!! BTM she found ok but a bit loud! So she's not keen on going on it again in March. Tower of Terror she went on twice. First time she was 'being brave' but was worried about seeing ghosts (even though she's been on Phantom Manor twice) - came off it laughing saying 'that was great, but I didn't see any ghosts!' About an hour later (after having thought about it) she decided she really didn't like it because her bottom left the seat! Managed to get her on again - she was very brave again because this time she was looking after her Daddy who hadn't gone on previously! - and again came off laughing, but again said later that she didn't like it when it 'went down'.

I'm glad she went on both as she loves fast and fun rides, but obviously at the moment the loudness of BTM and the drops of TT have put her off. But that's fine!

On a side note, she loves the Toy Soldier parachute drop - it's not as fast though is it, and it has more secure restraints.

I don't know how noisy Crush is?? I haven't been on it myself yet....the speed and spinning of it (she can cope with the cars spinning ride - I'm not so keen!!!) I'm not worried about for her..... She's not quite tall enough for it, but one day she will be!

Will BTM seat 3 of us together?

We never did parachute drop. It's too scary for me :rolleyes1 I don't like rides like that :headache:

DS2 was really upset when he was too short to do Star tours :lmao:

My kids don't like noisy rides. I think I'll try BTM and Phantom manor. Crush is a thrill and noisy ride?

Yes :) BTM will sears three of you (up to 2 adults and 1child, or 2 children and 1 adult). We do this often.

Crush is in the dark when the ride starts going and it's really noisy if you get me sitting behind you screaming ;) Its very fast and scary if you're not used to fast thrill rides.

So Crush is out of the list. DS2 isn't fond of dark rides. POTC is too dark for him, but we manage. And if the rides is dark and fast.. We'll stick to Casey Jr. and story boats :lmao: But we'll try Phantom manor

I think BTM is noisy too, thanks to the anti-rollback system of the trains (so it couldn't go backwards), during big ascensions, it goes "TAK TAK TAK TAK TAK" (look how good I am at imitating the noise of those anti-rollback :rotfl:) until you get up.
It's.....pretty noisy (but hey, better safe than silent ;)) but maybe, once you explain this to a child, it can re-assure him/her ? (I don't have children, so I can be mistaken)

This is were the problem is. DS1 has been to BTM 3 years ago, when he was 5 and he got really scared. Not he's 8, but DS2 is 5... So I'm puzzled with what to do. Boys don't like thrill rides. But on the other hand after couple of years Disney rides experience maybe they would be ok?

I won't lie, crush coaster is SCARY! And I'm the sort who can go on rockin roller coaster several times in a row.
I thought I was going to fall out of crush and when I got off, it felt like my head had been in a washing machine and I needed to sit down :rotfl:

That being said ill probably go on again of the queue isn't long, but I'll only do it once when I'm there!

Crush is a wonderful ride! It's so unique! I put my 7 yr old on it and rode it as many times as we could considering the line. It's fun and not scary.
