Hey everyone. Me, my wife, and some friends are going to be returning to Universal next week. My wife and I went with some different friends last year and decided to make stop by the resort again this year before our cruise. I'm very familiar with the parks but theres just a few minor questions I want to ask.

1. I thought I read that the regular butterbeer is carbonated but the frozen butterbeer isn't. Is that true? My wife doesn't drink carbonation so I figured i'd find out before we get there.

2. I've also read that the Hogsmeid shops stay open an hour after IOA closes. I'm guessing with the shorter hours that may be one of the only oppertunitys to see the wizarding world after dark. Do you have to be in the wizarding world at the time of the parks closer to take advantage of the late shopping?

3. We just decided today that we are going to be adding HHN to our trip. My wife and I attended HHN last year but we spent that day in the studios. We are planning on going on thusday the 7th and get the S&S passes again. However this time we will be spending most the day in IOA before HHN. Are there kiosks set up in IOA as well that sells the S&S passes or should we give ourselves extra time to get over to the studios to buy our S&S passes there.

4. What would you think would be a best time to leave IOA and head to the studios. I was figuring leaving IOA at least by 3:30 or 4 so we have sufficent time maybe catch a ride or two before grabbing dinner at Finnagans while wating in the S&S holding area.

5. This question is a biggie. Last year my wife was not impressed with HHN. Nither were our friends that went with us. However I absolutly loved it. This year we werent' planning on going again however our other friends (the ones coming with us this year) wanted to attend the event. So needless to say we are going too and my wife is still effey about it. Do you have any advice on what I can do to help her get more excited about it. Do you think the people in your group can play a big part in how well others in the group like the event? Last year our friends were not fans of halloween at all and seemed bored the whole time. this year our friends are way excited about it and love scary type things. I'm hoping by them being much more excited about the event will help her have a good time as well.

6. And lastly is there any little things you recommend checking out. As I said our friends we are going with this year are much more exctied about going to Universal then our friends last year seemed to be. In fact there so excited we are going to Universal for 3 days (last year was only 2). What are some little secrets that often go missed as last year we felt we rushed to see everything where this year we plan to slow down and take it all in.

Anyways thanks for any advice you can give. I may come up with some more questions over the next few days.

I can answer the HHN questions:

You would need to go to Guest Services to purchase the HHN tickets with the S & S discount since you have to have your park ticket with you. The S & S discount is only available if you have park tickets for the same day.

As far as dinner goes, I would aim for no later than 4pm so you would have plenty of time to eat and settle your bill before the holding area is released. If you aren't ready when the holding area is released, it kind of defeats the purpose...you know?

I'm not sure what to tell you to do to get the wife more excited about it. I love HHN so no one needs to tell me the high points but some people just don't care for it. I think your group will greatly help or harm how things go with your wife. If they act bored again, I doubt anyone will have a good time except you. But if they act excited, then the wife will probably have a good time this year.

Does that make sense?

Thanks for the reply. We purchased our S&S at guest services last year as well so I figured that would be the plan this year as well. Does it have to be bought at the guest services in the studios or can they be bought at IOA as well since that is where we are spending most of our first day. Ether way we are planning to be in the studios no later then 3:30.

Anyways i'm still looking for advice on the other items I asked about. I have a couple additional questions now though.

7. Some of the people in our party are wanting to shop in the Wizarding World that morning. We are not staying onsite and our hotel is about a 15 minute walk away. Are they lockers that are avalible for a full day rental still avalible when HHN starts. Like after 6:30 could we rent one of those lockers to put there stuff in for the rest of the evening?

8. I bought the $99 tickets back in January before the prices went up. It says to use the same credit card I used to order the tickets to pick them up at the kiosks. However I have since got a new credit card as the one I originally booked with expired. The CC number is all the same with the only difference being a different exp date. That shouldn't effect anything would it?

As long as you have ID and your confirmation, just go to Guest Services for your tickets.
