At last! Dh is coming round to the idea of spending a few days at DLP to celebrate his 40th and the boy's birthday (I've persuaded him it will be a saving as that's 3 parties we don't need to have, and the boys can choose their presents at Disney - but as we'd buy them stuff anyway we're actually buying less! - you can see why I'm not an accountant).

Anyway, we've been before in 2003 but a couple of questions came up looking at the brochure.

1) Why all the different Fastpass? It said you get hotel fastpas for DH and HNY, and VIP fastpass for suites. Can you still get ordinary fastpass? (And what's the difference?)

2) Sequoia Lodge appeals to DH as it will save us about £100 over HNY - anyone stayed there? Any pluses or minuses over other hotels? DS(6) wanted to stay at a "cowboy" hotel (Hotel Cheyenne) but I pointed out there's no pool.

3) I'm keen to get shares (I love Discount - its my second-favourite word after "free") - would the outlay provide a sufficient saving do you think?

DH thinks we should wait and book on lastminute.com or similar, I was doubtful we'd get what we want as we've got to go in 1/2 term. If anyone has gone down this road and can advise us I'd be grateful!

OK, not-so-quick questions, but thanks anyway.

Good psychology - completely confuse him with feminine logic!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

As far as I know the DLH and HNY fastpasses are for single goes on fastpass rides and each can only be used once. The VIP fastpasses I believe can be used anytime and repeatedly. You can still get ordinary fastpasses at the machines by the rides and at DLP you can hold muliple fastpasses unlike at WDW where you can only hold 1 at a time ie: at DLP you can get a fastpass for every ride which has fastpass and hold them all at the same time but not 2 for the same ride until you've used the first one for that ride (does that make sense?????)

We stayed at SL in November and liked it very much. We've also stayed at the Cheyenne and also liked that very much but if the pool's important to you then, as you say, it hasn't got one.

3) I'm keen to get shares (I love Discount - its my second-favourite word after "free") - would the outlay provide a sufficient saving do you think?
Can't help you there but there are plenty of shareholders who'll help you I'm sure.

October half-term will be EXTREMELY busy!!!!!

Enjoy your planning! Ask any questions you like - there'll always be someone who can help you - and have a wonderful holiday and birthday celebrations!!

Regarding shares you now have to buy from a broker that deals with Paris Stock Exchange as they were delisted in London.
I used www.squaregain.co.uk see other threads as they are not great on customer care but did the job.
You need a minimum of 500 shares to join the shareholders club and 2,000 for free membership.

I agree with Di about late booking for October half term. I wouldn't chance it and I don't think you'll get a bargain. A friend of mine went with DH and DS 11 last October and all she could get was 2 nights at NBC with indirect Eurostar (via Lille). She waited until two weeks before to book and paid almost a thousand pounds, which is very expensive!:scared1:

As it is such an important occasion and you are making an early start on your planning, I would get quotes from anywhere and everywhere and see if you can't get an early bookers discount.

Last year at October half-term it was very busy. HOwever, the Studios was okay with crowds and the other park was fine if you used fastpass and arrived early, and stayed until the end of the day. The Halloween theming is brilliant thought.
