I am living in the UK and have been to WDW 7 times with my family. Later on this year I will be going to DLP with my friends. Also, I am 17 years old. Here are a few questions.

1. What are the differences between the Rockin' Roller Coaster at WDW and DLP?

2. What are the crowds like at the end of August?

3. I am staying at the Explorers Hotel. What is it like?

4. What are the "must-do" attractions and shows?

5. Are the staff as friendly at DLP as at WDW?

6. How does Wishes compare at DLP to WDW?

7. Is not being able to speak French a problem?

8. Are the shows in French or English?

9. Finally, does any one have any tips for four friends, all 17/18 going to DLP? We are sensible and mature and not like the stereotypical 17/18 who likes to drink etc. We all love Disney!

Thank you!!

I will answer the ones I can...

1 - There is very little difference between the rides but the queueing & entrance at WDW is better

4 - Lights, Motoeurs Action. Space Mountain M2. BTMRR. RnRc

7 - Nope, all the staff speak more than one language & thier native language is advised on thier name tag. All the maps come in many languages noticable by the the Mickey head flag on the front of the map

9 - Have fun! and get there early in the day

Hi Craig :)
2. I visited DLP last year at the end of august and we thought it was crowded compared to our former trips but still manageable. We got to ride every attraction and our favourite ones (RnRC :thumbsup2 and Space Mountain and some more) multiple times during our 3 days trip. Fantasyland was best to do at morning since it always had the longest waits. RnRC had an average waiting time of 15 minutes and SMM2 20 (at least everytime we went :confused3 ). We only had to use fastpass on BTMRR, which was a 45 min wait without.

4. RnRC!!!!!! SMM2!!!!! BTMRR, PoC pirate: , Tarzan, I guess Buzz ( well, hard to decide we always go on every ride and watch every show/parade ;) and on the last day we do park hopping to revisit our favourite ones)

6. I have not seen Wishes at WDW but saw a video of it and I think it`s a little bit longer and has much more fireworks in it, while the version at DLP had a lot more Laser projections on the castle last year.

7. You do not have to speak French, merci bien, bonjour and au revoir is all I ever used at DLP.

9. Have fun! Use fastpasses, try to get to Fantasyland early. You will have such a good time! :Pinkbounc

Hi craigwstewart and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:
We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, posting guidelines can be found here and details regarding help on signatures here

3. You'll enjoy Explorer hotel. Elaine (Ware Bears) has been there a couple of times. Have a look at the Hotel FAQ and some of the trip reports.

4 - All of them :)

5 - no chance, sorry but WDW was far friendlier.

7 - We have never had a problem with it.

Hi craigwstewart and welcome to the DIS! :welcome:

We've stayed at the Explorers twice and found it to be fine. It is clean and comfortable and a good base to stay. We have also walked to/from the parks as an alternative to catching the shuttle, this takes about 25 minutes.

We went end August last year and although it was busy we found it manageable, especially if you get to the parks early and use fastpass. :goodvibes
