Some questions about Kona

Just wondering....trying to decide between this and Ohana, though I might not have much of a choice to make if I cant get ohana.

No, Kona overlooks the 2nd floor of the lobby atrium only.

IMHO, Wishes viewed at the Polynesian are best on the beach. It's not easy to get a view of the fireworks from 'Ohana, even if you get an ADR there.

Ive noticed that several of the meals they serve at dinner have a wasbi sauce...like wasabi cream sauce, or Hollandaise wasabi sauce.... Im not a huge fun of spicy food, so do you think we should skip this place??

I can't do hardly any spice at all and have always enjoyed the food at Kona. I tend to skip a meal that is obviously spicy but if a dish really interests you, just ask your waiter if they can tone down the spice level. Most sauces are fairly easy to change spice level on.

We ate at Kona last year and now it is a must do for us. I do not remember the food being spicy. My mom usually will complain if a meal is spicy and she loved it. She ordered the steak and I ordered the pork chop (not sure if they still have this or not) and they both were really good. The steak was better than the chop.

Hope this helps.

You should also be able to watch it from the waiting area by Ohana and the music is also piped into the Great Ceremonial House, because last month when my family and I were at the Kona Island Sushi Bar I heard the music being played.

Any WDW restaurant will gladly leave the sauces off, or serve them on the side if you'd prefer. Kona's food is wonderful, and I only see two dishes on the menu that have a wasabi sauce......most of their food isn't spicy at all.

Have watched the Fireworks from the Poly beach area and it is a great location for a different perspective. Obviously not as good a being inside MK with the music and fireworks overhead. By the way don't pass on Kona, it is one of our favorites, have ADR there the week after Thanksgiving! :yay:

We have watched it from the beach and enjoyed it. The only thing that i was surprised by is that we could not hear the music. Not sure if it was just the night we were there or if it is like that all the time.

Log in to My Disney Vacation and select Dining Reservations from the drop down menu. Retrieve your ADR by entering the ADR confirmation # & the phone number you used when making the ADR. When it retrieves your ADR, there should be a button to click to cancel. A second screen comes up making sure you wnat to cancel. Click that & your ADR is cancelled. You will not receive an email verification of your cancellation though.

I am not the OP, and I feel really silly asking this question, but I can't find the My Disney Vacation section anymore!! I've navigated the disney site for several years now and have never had this problem! It has just vanished and I can't seem to find it. I've been trying for days.....now I'm posting here for some help. Thanks!

I am having the same problem with not being able to view/find My Vacation...Same situation with never having a problem before :confused3

Go to http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/ and 'My Disney Vacation' is on the top gray bar, far right. Hope that helps!

I check there a bunch of times but it is just not there anymore...Do not know where it went.

Wow, that's just crazy b/c I'm looking at it right now on my page, lol! I've had this page up since last night, so maybe it disappeared overnight?

No, lost it about a week ago after I made my ADR for my November trip...It was there the day I made the ADR because I checked them when I was done...Went back the next day to find "MY Vacation" was gone.

I just now went to the site (I cleared all cookies & stuff from my computer this morning, so it's fresh - nothing in the cache): "My Disney Vacation" still appears in the gray bar at the top of the screen. When you click on it, it brings you to the regular site, and "My Disney Vacation" is at the upper right. When you point at it, a drop down menu appears and Dining Reservations is near the bottom of the list.
