We arrived in Norway and found a very long line to check in for lunch. We tried to wait as patiently as four starving people can.

FINALLY, we made it to the counter and checked in. They were routing everyone to a line for taking pictures with Cinderella but we were too hungry and cranky to comply so we told them we just wanted a table NOW!. They scrambled a little, looked confused and told us to sit in the lobby a minute. I was very confused about what the procedure was here or if we were in the lineup for a table so I kept asking every castmember that walked by “How do we get a table?” I don’t think we waited too long inside but it felt like an eternity.
Finally our name was called and we were seated at a very nice table in the center of the restaurant. Our waitress took our drink orders of 2 diet cokes and we ordered the girls the Tinkerbell Lemonade with the glow clip. They really liked it and it created a diversion long enough to get some food on the table. The waitress brought a basket of bread-cheese bread, regular rolls, and a wheat roll. Oh, and some cinnamon or honey (?) butter everyone enjoyed. Traci went to the buffet and got a green salad, pasta salad made with Mickey pasta, and some cold cuts. I went next and got the salads plus a cold beet salad that was very good, and several cheeses and cold cuts. We all dug in. For our main courses, Traci had the Chicken Breast and I ordered the traditional Kjottkaker. The girls ordered grilled chicken breast. We all really enjoyed the food here. My dish came with a side of red cabbage stewed in the red wine beet sauce and it complimented the meat dish very well, I thought. It tasted almost candied. The girls didn’t eat too much because the characters were coming around. Our first visit was from Alice, with the British accent the girls didn’t quite know what to think of her. Plus they were eying the other princesses across the room.

Next up was Sleeping Beauty and all of Grace’s fear of the characters and inhibitions just melted away! I almost cried. Grace gave her a big hug!

IMG_4600.jpg

You could really tell Sleeping Beauty loved kids, she was really good with the girls.
It was a turning point. We were halfway through the trip and Grace was starting to enjoy the characters! I was so happy!
Next was Snow White. She was very cute and in character completely!

Then we visited with Cinderella.

They brought us the plate of desserts and we loved all of them. There was an espresso cheesecake-type cake, the traditional rice cream with lingonberry sauce which she described as a dish they traditionally ate at Christmas, and lingonberry sponge cake with cream on top. Oh, they were all so good!
IMG_0508.jpg

We were sorry when this lunch was over, it was really good!

:grouphug: Next, we all decided that we should use those fastpasses and ride Test Track again!

We made our way over to Test Track and rode it again and redeemed our previous fastpasses this time. This time Traci rode in the front seat and I rode with the girls in the back. This is a great ride and don’t miss it on your visit to Epcot!:thumbsup2
After Test Track it was 2pm and I knew Disney Visa cardholders had an “Exclusive Meet and Greet” at Innoventions West so we made our way to try to find it. Once inside Innoventions West we were directed to a line back by the Segways and the line did not move. We stood there for 20 minutes without moving an inch. Traci took the girls to explore some of the exhibits in Innovention West and came back to find all of us in the line very frustrated. Finally, we were about to leave when they opened the line again explaining the characters had been on break. I am so glad we did not leave because this was well worth the wait! You are ushered into a room where your family gets one-on-one time with Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy together! We spent some time playing with the characters, getting their autographs and taking pictures. Do not miss this-get your Disney Visa card NOW! You are also given a coupon to redeem for a free 5 x 7 at the front of the park but we forgot to redeem it.:sad2:

After the meet and greet we let the girls color at a Kidcot funstop that was about the food pyramid.
IMG_0524.jpg

They enjoyed visiting the Kidcot funstops a lot as you’ll hear more about later. Then, we made our way out of the park and drove the car back to Old Key West. It was always nice coming home to this resort! We loved it here the whole time and I can definitely see why people buy DVC-I would too if I had the money.
The girls took naps while Traci and I snacked and played cards. I had a moment at that time to take some pictures of our towel animals:

Up next: A great night in the World Showcase!

This is a great trip report. Especially with the bantering back and forth between you two. One of the best I've read.

Glad I was reading too. We're off for Thanksgiving in 40 days and I would have forgotten my Disney Visa. NOT ANYMORE!!!!

Keep going, I'm ready for more.

Mind if I ask what you thought of the process of renting points? Did you do it from this board? Can you pool hop if you rent a DVCers points like the owner himself can?
Thanks!

I was going to address this a little later but I'll go ahead and do it now. Renting DVC points was a great experience. Trying to find points to rent was very difficult. I made several posts on the DVC boards and it took corresponding with about 20 different people until I found one I could come to terms with. He happened to be from Texas too (we Texans stick together:laughing: ), and we talked on the phone. I started the process VERY early so I had no problem with availability. I trusted him completely throughout the process. I gave him my credit card for payment in full and he gave me the yellow sheet that is the DVC confirmation. We didn't correspond at all for the seven months leading up to our stay. However, it was a rough experience just before we left on our trip when I could not verify the reservation with the Resort (they only talk to the owners-and my owner was out of town) and I just had to go on faith that everything would be okay when we arrived. It was and I am thankful for that. I am the type of person that confirms things, I don't just show up and hope everything will be okay so it was hard for me to let go.
I do not know about pool hopping-we hopped over to the Wilderness Lodge pool on our last day but it didn't even occur to me that this was illegal-our KTTW card did say "DVC Owner" on it but we never tried to use any of those privileges.
For the value, I will DEFINITELY rent points again! In a heartbeat.
Feel free to ask any other qustions and I'll try to answer.
Thanks for staying with our TR.

Grace great trip report - Also regarding pool hopping: DVC members staying at the resorts are allowed to pool hop. ( Except to BC and AKL )
(You usually don't need the other DVC owner card for that )

The girls woke from their naps and we drove to Epcot once again. Our plan was to return by 4:30pm but it was more like 5:30pm when we arrived. We wanted to hit as many countries as possible and we knew our time was limited. We started in Mexico, rode the Three Caballeros which was fine, nothing spectacular but okay. In hindsight, we probably shouldn’t have spent the time to ride it. We visited the Mexico Kidcot Funstop and the girls were both given masks on a stick which they began to color. Do not interrupt thes girls when they are trying to perfect their masterpieces. :rolleyes1 I walked over and bought them two passports. The passports are $9.95 each and they come with an Epcot button, a passport, and several stickers corresponding to the different countries. Very cute. The Mexico representative wrote “Bienvenida a Mexico! Que te diviertas!” , gave the passport a stamp of Mickey in a sombrero, and notated their date and time of entry. They also added a piece to their mask.
IMG_0532.jpg

We struggled to get the girls into the strollers and on our way. We next stopped in Norway where the nice woman wrote “Hei. Velhcommen til Norge! Ha en magisli dag” and she drew a cute picture. The stamps were of Mickey in a Viking helmet.
IMG_0534.jpg

We rode Maelstrom and made our way to China.
The chinese entry in the passport is, of course, in chinese so I am unable to transcribe it here. She also wrote each of the girls names' in chinese on their masks. She wrote "Dreams Come True!" which will prove to be a true foreshadowing of the next day! (:wizard: Are you with me?:wizard: )
We pried the girls away from the markers once again and made our way to Germany. Ah, Germany! Beautiful! The woman was very kind and wrote "Willkommen in Deutschland!".
IMG_0535.jpg

Traci wanted to stop for some beers but I told her I'd rather have the blue Vodka drink in France so she passed the beer booth on by. Why did I stop her!! :confused3
We came to Italy and the (great-looking! hubba-hubba!) Italian man wrote "Buona Sera! Benvenuti in Italia" .
IMG_0538.jpg

It was about 6:45pm at the time and were starting to get very hungry. It just so happened the next country was America and although I would’ve rather eaten anywhere but America we stopped to get 4 counter service meals here. The lines were not long but the cashiers and cooks were v-e-r-y slow. Traci took the girls to a table while I spent 15 minutes ordering and collecting our 4 cheeseburgers, 2 fries, 2 apple slices, 2 lemonades, 2 diet cokes, 2 chocolate chip cookies, and 2 brownies. Ok, now I know there is debate on these boards about the ethics of what I did, but I ordered 4 Adult counter service meals. Our cards plainly said 2A 2C but they did not question my order at all. And we were hungry. And the girls didn’t want anything on the children’s menu. PB&J? Come on! Have I justified my actions enough yet? Good, because once I figured out I could do this I did it for the rest of our stay. Please don’t flame me-I paid for this part of our dining plan!

After dinner it was nearing 7:30 and we decided to find a spot to watch Illuminations. There were MANY good spots in Japan but you know that part of you that always thinks there’s gonna be a better spot just around the corner? Well that part got the better of me and we kept on walking. I mean there was NO ONE from Japan all the way to UK. But I just kept prompting everyone to keep on walking. Once we got to UK and Canada it was PACKED. So we had to keep on walking to find any place suitable for viewing. So we walked, and walked, and walked all the way to the handicap accessible area right in line with Spaceship Earth, AT THE FRONT of the World Showcase! Where EVERYONE was. It was Packed! We wedged ourselved right up against the handicap area and a man in a wheelchair slapped us with his eyes. Come on! Two little innocent four year olds have to be able to watch Illuminations! Please?

And so it began…
The music,
The majesty.

Let us all take a moment to reflect on the beauty…

There cannot be one person who does not tear up during Illuminations.
Even with obstructed viewing it was THE BEST!
And I looked at the girls, hoping that this was making a delible imprint of magic and peace on their young brains and they were…
HOLDING THEIR EARS!
Fearing for their lives.
Not enjoying it at all.

And so began the mass exodus that occurs after Illuminations. So we waited and let the girls play right there. After fifteen minutes or so we gathered our belongings and made our way to the entrance of Epcot. And I had to say goodbye to this, perhaps the most beautiful of all of the parks, for awhile.
(I don’t think any of my trip mates were with me in my sadness upon leaving)

We found our rental car and made it out of the parking lot in seconds and were back to our "home".

The girls bathed and went to sleep without any problems and Traci and I once again had a glass of wine and relaxed. We were tired and went to sleep not long after.
Another terrific day!
And some would argue the best is still yet to come!
You WILL NOT want to miss tomorrow! :wizard: Trust Me!

I have to admit I wish we could have spent more time at Epcot. Rushing thru the countries was a bummer. The Italian guy did make me blush. Super cute. My seat for illuminations was terrible. I had people basically standing up in front of me and I didn't want to stand up in front of the people in wheelchairs.:earseek: ! And the girls seemed a little freaked by the sound. But, it was a great evening!!!!

I am enjoying your TR so much! First of all, all 4 of you are so cute! The girls are precious, and you all are too! My DD is 2.5 and I can't wait until she's 4 to take her to WDW. It's really hard for my DH to take time off work any times other than when it's really super-crowded there, but now I am so excited about the prospect of going with a girlfriend and her DD, too!

What an amazingly fun trip so far, I can't wait to read more!!

Please write more, I can't wait to hear about tomm. and the foreshadowing your doing is great!:wizard:

Here are a few pics of the "big" pool at Old Key West! It was pretty cool.:cool2: Jen and I grabbed some drinks and lounged poolside while the girls had fun in the baby pool and the big sandbox. This big slide is a little scary but, Tatum did slide more than once. The slide was shaped like a sandcastle. :thumbsup2 I can't remember what day we went there. I bet it's "tomorrow" So, sorry Jen if I'm jumping the gun!

Tuesday September 25th

We awoke fairly painlessly as were hitting our trip “stride” so to speak. I wanted to make rope drop at Animal Kingdom so we loaded into the rental car at 8:30 and easily followed the signs to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. We took the tram from the parking lot to the entrance and Traci got 3 “First Visit” buttons for her and the girls as none of them had ever been to AK before. The entrance to AK is very narrow, you go down paths through the Oasis that lead to Discovery Island and your majestic view of The Tree of Life. I was somewhat in “commando” mode and I wanted to deposit the girls in DinoLand so I could go get fastpasses for the Safari. We arrived at DinoLand and it was empty so I told Traci to ride these rides until I return. I remember distinctly telling her “If you win a dream, be sure to tell them I am with you guys so I can win a dream too”. It was the only time I said anything like that to her on our trip! I then turned and made my PAINFUL way to Asia. I didn’t consult a park map and asked a castmember the shortest route and she sent me the LONG way by Finding Nemo, past Expedition Everest, past Kali, past Flights of Wonder. By the time I made it to the Safaris I was sweating profusely. Like a true Disney veteran (which I am not) I quickly obtained fastpasses and went back the way I had come, still unknowing that it was the longest possible route.

Along the way I stopped at a Photopass Photographer and had my picture taken at a beautiful viewing spot for the Tree of Life and she took my picture with the superimposed “Baby Simba”. As I made my way back onto the path I came across a woman who I sensed was doing the same thing I was. I turned to her as we were both speed walking/running and said “Are you the one in charge of Fastpasses for your group?” She looked at me, chuckled and said “Yeah. We sacrifice so they can have a great trip.” I said “Yeah, and they’ll never know how much we sacrifice for them!”. It was a moment of bonding between two strangers, who obviously were Disney die-hards who live for trips like these. Two kindred spirits passing in the heat on a beautiful Disney morning.

I made my way back to Dinoland and saw Traci jumping up and down as I approached. She said “Why haven’t you been answering your cell??? I called you 5 TIMES!” I said “Oh I guess it was on silent, why? What happened?”

And I’ll let Traci tell you what happened in her post up next….
(and I’ll have pics in my next post too!)
:)

Okay, When Jen left for the fast passes we decided to ride the dinosaur ride. I'm not sure what it is called. But, it's just like the Dumbo at MK. And, by the way, the only ride in dinoland that the girls could ride. We originally started for theTriceraTop Spin. But no go! Thank goodness it made me sick just looking. Round and round - YUCK! When we got the "Dumbo-Dino" NOBODY was there in line. So we sped past the turnstil only to come upon "official" looking CMs with big black shoulder bags. A super sweet lady said "Congrats! You and your crew are winners of Fast Passes for the day!!!" I totally freaked out and started jumping up and down!!! (And I hate the bananaman!) I immediately looked in the direction in which Jen was last headed. I COULD SEE HER!!!! :thumbsup2 I started yelling like a mad person. So what, I thought, I didn't know anyone there. She didn't hear me. I don't know how she didn't when EVERYBODY else did. The sweet lady gave me three passes. One for me and the 2 girls. I told her we had another person, who ironically went for fastpasses, with us and I asked for 1 more. She could only award the passes to the people present:scared1: I frantically called Jen about a million times. I didn't know at the time just how far she was headed. I told the lady that she would be right back. And then I started stalking... and stalking to be sure that they didn't run off anywhere with my friend's FastPass. Finally, Jen rounded the corner. Sweating and panting. I thought for sure she had gotten one of my messages and ran back. But, she hadn't and she was totally excited to see us with the dream team!:cheer2:
You woulda thought that we were awarded a nite's stay in Cindrella's crib!!
We were totally stoked b/c this means we could (Jen and I) ride the BIG rides twice and we did WITH NO WAIT!!! LOVED Everest!!!

I love your trip report. It sounds like you guys had a lot of fun!!!!!
