Minniebride's FW review thread just reminded me that we got some pics of the old train tracks back in late Oct. I figured I'd post in a separate thread instead of hijacking that one :goodvibes

Beginning of tracks near/across from the Settlement bus stop. This is up near the 100-300 loops and Pioneer Hall. The bus road would be to the right of the pic:

Further still into the brush ...

There were some marked spikes along the path deeper in ??

Looking across some wooded area, there were more marked surveyor spikes lined up. They are hard too see in the pic below, but this is looking out across from the old tracks to a clearing in the distance. Any idea what they were for ??

Thanks for the pix Brocktoon.

This is the expansion loop that was built out when River Country opened so they could have a station on the west side of the road that comes down from the Meadow Trading Post. Previously the original station curved in east of the road and was in front of the 400 loop.

I wonder what those stakes are also. Hmmm. It's several months before I can get to the Fort. :surfweb:

Yes, very interesting! Thanks for the pics!

Enjoyed your photos of the railroad bed. The doge and I walked part of the path on the 800 loop this afternoon. Its alittle chilly but the sun feels great.
thanks Steve- (sambuster )
